Using submarines to lay mines

Post by hellfish6 »

There's probably a simple solution to this, but can submarines not explicitly equipped for laying mines (at least in the DB) still lay them if we add mines to their magazines?

Yes should be able to. Just watch your depths and if you really need a mine loadout let us know what sub and what mine. Think we hooked pat up with the Kilo mines at some point.

I'm using an old Bulgarian Whiskey II right now. I'll add some mines and see what happens.

You can also add a mine magazine to different platforms in the editor, including subs, simulating a mine belt. The default mine magazine carries up to 80 mines, but you could add the number of mines that can realistically be carried in real life, and leave the rest of the magazine empty.
