Yep but I did a minesweep before unleashing the beasts .

Note that BBs do not often hit mines if they are bombarding at long range (no escort). Mines do not really help vs BBs...

I have found defensive mines to be of little effect in the game. I had a 5-600 mine minefield at Suva where my opponent sortied most of the IJ BBs and they didn´t hit a single mine. That story have repeated itself throughout the game for both sides.

Also keep in mind that I have found bombardments like that to show very inflated damage. Especially when looking in the "aircraft losses screen". Same goes for aerial AF bombardments. The P38s with their high SR will likely be out of action for quite some time though!
