[WAD] Ignore Tanker when RTB

Post by CaptCarnage »

Example:

Canaries Cage
I have a AAW Patrol area north of the Canaries with A/C coming and going. A little further north I have a tanker support route where they are just looping until they're Bingo.

Enter a Naval Strike flight group with Harpoons. They fly down south to enemy ships, offload their fury and then go RTB Winchester. Unfortunately they make convenient use of my tankers who are there for the Patrol guys.

Result is that the tankers go home bingo way too early leaving my patrols drying out and ditching their aircraft in the Atlantic.

So.
Feature request: when a plane is heading home and can easily get there, please have it ignore the tanker.

Just to add:

It doesn't have to be automated.
I don't mind setting this myself for certain flights, e.g. a checkbox for "Ignore Tanker When RTB".

Perhaps the program may or may not be able to calculate the amount of fuel required when going home - but well, I can. :)

Look in ROE. Try the Use Refuel unrep option.

If you did use this and it still refueled let us know.

Would it be possible to assign a tanker to a mission in the missions menu, with one tanker being able to supply more than one mission where possible?

If you set a tanker to a Support mission circling between 2 points it will refuel all A/C that need fuel -regardless of their mission.

...which is pretty handy if you want e.g. to set up a long-lasting BARCAP screen.

An aerial tanking rendezvous area is definitely very useful in a scenario like Shamal, where you are shuttling patrols and strikes repeatedly.

You should have refueling tracks set up in every air operation and they should be airborne before anybody else.
