Didn't build a fire tonight, but the house is down to 60 degrees already and I'm wrapped in a quilt and shaking like a leaf. Going to dive into bed with a few dogs to get warm ...

A "Three Dog Night"?

Haha Joe, I've been using "Three Dog Night" on my Facebook page a lot... running joke is to "throw another log on the fire and another dog on the bed" [:D]

Seriously though, the dogs seem to know when I'm going hypothermic and suddenly I've got everybody jumping on the bed and laying next to me around 4 am... then at 6 am they wake me up with "kisses" and I let them out... I leave the door ajar and within a few minutes all are back in bed with me again till I get up around 8 am.

It was rough getting up today though, house got down to 52 degrees by dawn and after I was up and dressed I was still chilled to bone. I actually went out and laid in the sun in a lounge chair to finally warm up. The house didn't warm up till way past noon. The temperature swings in the desert are killers... we're talking 40 degrees drop after sunset.

There will definitely be a fire in the stove tonight, I'm sharpening the axe while reading mail.

Thanks for all the support guys. Hope no one thinks this is too O/T for a wargaming forum [:)]

Just to get back O/T... waiting eagerly for MWIF... and wondering if I'll be able to afford it after all these years of waiting....

I made a lame comment regarding u claiming "gobmint shenanigans" and your resulting 2 weeks of paid vacation. It must have been just awful for you. I'm prolly not alone in that I can't even remember the last time I had a vacation, and don't want to stir up other comments regarding that matter. I edited my comment b/c I don't want to be unseemly. But ur too proud to let it rest aren't you, what a shock.

So there you have it. Anyway you're a hero or whatever. Maybe you are just that. I dunno. Shrug.

Rhonda, who wanted the child, the father or the mother? Both? Neither? The child is beautiful BTW. Rhonda, wish I could say the same for you. Looking a bit worn out. Rhonda has stayed at her post. I give you a citation for being a teacher! It's the Gary Childress citation and it probably isn't worth a whole lot but Gary knows it is.

Yes, I'm showing the age... turned 66 on the 9th... trying not to go out in public much

Teaching stress destroyed me! Ironically, the Superintendent at my old school was fired, as was the Principal, and the people in charge now are letting the teachers do whatever they want now with no micromanagement by admin! If I had hung in another year, I might still be teaching, but I'm glad to have the ranch and I'm glad to be retired.

Warspite1 has gentlemanly pointed out that while I am in the apology mood I should apologize to Rhonda for the statement above.

Therefore I do apologize Rhonda. I did not mean to hurt your feelings. I just thought the child was very darling and precious but you may have had your better years. I probably should have just left it at the child is beautiful. I commended you on being a teacher. I know teachers are some of the best our society has to offer. Teaching is not easy and it's often not very rewarding salary-wise. But I think teachers are wonderful. And I'm sure most everyone else does too.

So I apologize Rhonda. Didn't mean to be hurtful if that is the way my statement was perceived. It's not like I'm any Brad Pitt or something, and I know I'm not. Don't really care if I'm not but I know you are supposed to say to every woman how beautiful she is.
