WP air defences?

I wonder why the air defence platoons (9xSAM) inherent to the MRRs, altogether with their tracked air defence batteries (Sams + Shilkas) aren't depicted in the WP OOBs? I began to play the "3rd Herd" scenario, from the WP side and discovered that the helos, from both sides, take most of the action. And without the protection of their inherent SAMs, the MRRs are just good as dead. According to doctrine, WP units were heavy in portable SAMs.

Well, most MRR battalions come with a company of either SA-11 or Tunguskas I think. And there are numerous MANPADs with the line companies as well. I've never noticed a lack of SHORAD, though its effectiveness is so-so (on both sides).

Mostly because I either cross attach them and they aren't in a specific unit or I have taken a look at the time frame of the game and determined that they could have been out of missiles by then and not added them.

If you will look at the subunit organization for the Soviet Mech Rifle Companies you will find they have SA=14 Gremlins.
