Units odd behaviour

Post by Panta_slith »

Playing 3rd Herd scenario, WP side, I noticed the following oddities:
1-WP Arty tries to hit enemy recon helicopters.
2-NATO helicopters seize an objective (it changes colour to blue)

In general, related to arty:
-When arty batteries scoot after firing, sometimes several of them end up in the same hex, overstacked and in an extremely vulnerable situation. [X(]

Not sure why the artillery would fire specifically at helo's.

Helicopters are definitely not supposed to be able to capture VL's.

We'll look into this.

Well, they fire at hexes were only helicopters were, at the start of the game and close to WP's initial setup.

Panta, did you have ground to ground los to the victory hex that flipped? If you didn't, you units could have seen the helo that is not at ground level and didn't see the ground unit that flipped the victory hex marker.

Yes, I had recon in the neighboring hexes and no enemy wheeled or tracked enemy recon nearby whatsoever, the chopper just passed through the hex and it changed colour

Panta, was the Helo that flipped the VP the same type as the ones being shelled?

I am not 100% sure, but the choppers fired at were Kiowas and the one that "seized" the victory hex was an Apache (or at least a gunship).

Panta, do you have a saved game where that happened. That would be a big help if you could post a saved game file.

No, unfortunately I overwrote it, but next time it happens (if it ever happens) I will be ready.
