Oddity in HOW campaign

Post by Panta_slith »

After finishing round 4 of the Hell on Wheels campaign, during the setup for round 5 I got the units in this placement, many of them out of the setup area and some even on water. It never happened before. Is it normal?

Normal. No. We will look at your save. Did you go from game 4 straight into game 5?

Panta, If you were autosaving your games, can you attached the last autosaved game file for game 4. Should the saved game file that was saved the turn before the scenario ended. That way we can play it to the end and then go directly to game five setup and see what happens. This was something that Rob worked hard on before release and we thought it was working ok now. Thanks

I don't autosave (the game doesn't seem to be prone to crashing!) but I do have the previous turn. IIRC, before finishing the setup for turn 5 I saved it and when reopening it was the way I described earlier. I should start from there on again to see what happens, but anyway, here it goes.

I ran your saved game file from the end of turn 4 and got the following placement which looks normal to me. This is the setup phase and your units should be placed from the top down and then working to the right. It is possible that some would be placed in the water hex since the computer is just placing your units for the scenario on the map since the computer is not checking for legal vs. legal hex. It is your job to place the units where you want them in legal hexes before starting the scenario. They should not be scattered over the map like they were in the picture you posted. I loaded your saved game 5 file and the setup was like your picture. I will send this on to Rob, but unless he can duplicate the scattering of units I don't know if he will be able to find and fix the problem that cause this. We will have to keep an eye out for this.

Panta,
See if the save game goes back to normal after running the 2.01 update.

Thanks.
