The final assault againts Singapore has now begun. It wohn't be too long before the crown jewel is lost.

Commander Cody: Thank you. The best thing is that the most important capital ships are operational and not sunk.

January 28th - 29th 1942

Pretty quiet days. The usual Singapore bombing runs but the flak does damage his bombers quite nicely!

The funny part of the turn was when allied PT boats stumbled upon KB itself.

Neither TF suffered any damage but he seems to have 6 CV's, 2BB and large amount of other escorts in single TF.

Bases captured by Japan: Moulmein and Jesselton.

BB Yamashiro (on the pic) and BB Mutsu visit Manila on 2nd turn in a row now. If he keeps this up I might use mines on their entry points.

There are a lot of Betty bombers flying againts the Philippine capital as well.

The counterstrike near Kuantan fails and Japanese 143rd Infantry regiment lives to see another day.

The good news is that more and more reinforcements are arriving in the Pacific theatre.

A lot of naval movement spotted but not much in terms of action this turn.

Allied patrol aircraft hit xAK Yamagiri Maru and xAK Akagane Maru near Cotabato. Heavy fires are reported on the horizon.

Japanese continue to clean up smaller bases around Philippines and in China assaulting guerilla troops in behind the frontlines.

Fortress at Singapore received yeat another 2 day ground assault and by some miracle the troops managed to hold the line.

The days are soon numbered but have to say that this base hold way longer than expected considering the initial landings made by the japanese forces.

This shows the state last offensive left this city...

The turn had few submarine attacks but all of them missed the target. Touche and better luck next time.

Ground offensive at Medan was succesfull and defending Dutch troops retreated to the jungle.

Recon flights indicates only moderate damage on the oil fields. Palempang is 100% intact so he has steady flow of resources available.

Here is an short recap on the first 2 1/2 months. I'am not going to give out specific details on major asset locations nor going to give out exact details how the defensive or offensive operations are planned.

We can discuss them a bit later on review when these things are affecting current turns.

Lets just say that overall I'am happy how the allied navy and airforce have fought thus far.

Review of 6th december 1941 - 15th feburary 1942

India & Burma

No action here to report. Japanese are 80 miles south of Rangoon and have halted their advance there.

Reinforcements are arriving and we are getting stronger by the day...

Malaya

The blitzkrieg landings in southern Malaya forces the allied troops to split up.

Singapore held until 11th february and very pleased that it took that long to capture the fortress.

ABDA

Japanese have secured oil production at Palembang, Medan and

The ABDA surface fleet have been very active and damaging some elements of enemy transports.

Despite some of the ships recieving damage allied have the bulk of the modern ships operational.

The advance towards Java is expected to start soon...

Austalia, NZ & South Pacific

Not much action here. Japanese naval assets are operating near Philippines so I wonder whether he actually bothers with this operational theatre.

Time will tell but since he has not made advance here it means it is going to be ugly.

Either way I'am moving ahead with with my convoys and resources here.

CenPac

The initial Pearl Harbour offensive did not do that much of an damage.

Only 1 batteship sunk and rest damaged. Which most of them are actually operational!

Philippines

The capital of Manila is the only base left in Luzon. It has been focus of heavy naval and air bombing runs daily.

Japanese are reinforcing here and have now made naval blockade at Bataan.

This Alamo will continue and hard to predict what the outcome here is.. bloody mess is only certain fact.

China

Japanese have secured Hongkong and the cities in the plains further north.

He did manage to get the plains since I opted not to fight in such terrain againts tanks.

Other than that well no action or offensive to report.

Lets say I'am ready as one can be here so it is now up to him make the next move.

Aleutians

Nothing to report here. Things have been completely quiet.

I have been a bit busy so this is multi turn update on latest events.

February 15th - 24th 1942

There are still large scale airstrikes visiting Manila daily.

However this Philippine capital wohn't surrender easily and no ground assaults are made by the enemy.

The filippino troops routed at Calaygan launch an counterstrike at Malaybalay and seize the base.

Allied submarines are largely uneffective. This is somewhat disappointing to say at least.

No ground offensives to report in China. He must be stacking his troops for an push somewhere. This suits me just fine.

In Malaya allied recapture Temuloh in central Malaya. A good reminder not to leave troops behind.

The enemy carriers are on the offensive at Java. The KB is sailing between Soerabaja and Batavia.

Thus far they have sunk some allied merchant vessels but no significant losses are made.

Last turn few A-24 Banshee divebombers (on the pic) got through the CAP but all the bombers missed their targets.

I'am launching even larger strike next turn againts these intruders and hopefully we have good dice rolls.

Bases captured by Japan: Chuhsien, Padang, Kahnsien, Tandjoengselor and Bandjermasin,

February 25th - 28th 1942

Another month passes and new arrives.

The invasion of Java has begun and japanese troops have seized Semarang in central region.

ABDA airforce launched againts the transports ships and carriers but the results were mediocre.

We did hit few xAK's and xAP's but no hits on carriers nor cruisers. Oh well, you got to try your best with forces at hand.

An small surface combat TF lead by CL De Ruyter (pic) engages the landing forces but the japanese presence is too strong. The flag ship sunks beneath the waves.

Japanese troops launch ground assault at Temuloh but the allied renegade troops manage to hold on.

At Cagayan filippone forces try to recapture the base but unfortunately the assault fails.

The good news is that we are recieving tons of troops, fighters, bombers and support squads.

The tide will slowly start to turn....

March 1st - 9th 1942

After few more sunset the battle rages on around the pacific.

Japanese have finally started landings at Rabaul. This came later than expected and not worried about this at all.

At Manila naval and air bombardments continue but japanese are not strong enough to launch any ground assaults.

In Java the motorized japanese spearhead arrives at Soerebaja and I'am expecting full scale assault immediately.

There still has not been any ground offensives fought at China. Happy with that since the cost of these assaults rise day by day.

At Burma japanese have halted at Moulmein area. I think he is waiting for the Java and Luzon to be cleared out.

The skipper of CL Kashima dodged 8 torpedoes on it's route towards Java but finally SS 020 hits the ship near Miri.

KB has been covering the transport ships near Java and have nailed quite a few ABDA bombers.

Bases captured by Japan: Pontianak, Temuloh, Tjepoe and Zamboanga.

Manila continues to be main focus for the Japanese LBA bombers. The AA crews are doing their best to defend the philippine capital.

Japanese carriers continue to operate around Java.

ABDA bombers have launched few airstrikes againts them but the superior aircraft and pilots have made these futile.

I'am expecting the first ground offensive to be launched againts Soerabaja in next couple of turns.

There are no new developments neither in Burma nor China.

The 28th of March marked the day when Soerabaja falls. Initial assaults where repulsed but the japanese reinforcements were simply too much to defend the city.

This means eastern part of Java is at enemy hands.

To be honest very happy to see the base lasting as long as it did.

Elsewhere japanese troops mopped up beaten defenders near Cagayan and Medan.

The SS 020 torpedoed AK Sasako Maru near Miri. The reports indicate that infantry units where onboard that sunken ship.

Manila was heavily hit by japanese LBA bombers as usual.

Allied recon indicates 9 enemy units at Moulmein (on the pic) in Burma. That is definately increased number thus meaning japanese push into the jungle begins soon.

March 29th - April 3rd 1942

A quiet few days that had a lot of submarine assaults around the map.

That is the good news and the bad news being that all of the launched torpedoes missed their targets. Definately biggest prize would have been CV Soryu which dodge 4 torpedoes launched by SS KXI near Lautem.

Manila recieves extra naval bombardments when 6 japanese battleships open fire from the sea. No ground offensives launched though.

The defenders of Soerabaja get mauled at Malang and are forced to continue their retreat. The japanese forces reach Tijitap in Java.

Elsewhere nothing significant to report. A couple of operations brewing but we shall see how they go.

April 4th - 21st 1942

The war drags on it's brutal course...

In past two weeks Japanese have launched two big ground assaults at Manila. This has been massacre for both sides and +30 000 japanese are reported wounded/killed.
These ground offensives have been supported by massiver sea and air bombing runs. The defenders still hold the city and are not selling their skin cheap.

In Java region the japanese juggernaught continues to mob up Java and their spearhead have now reached Kalidjati. The destination of these troops being Batavia...

Enemy carriers are mostly operating in DEI region as well as bulk of his battleships. I'am very pleased to have bought as much time as have now since my intial thoughts on this success were not too big.

In Burma the enemy have now occupied most of the southern areas. Last turn the first troops entered Rangoon and the capital will not hold.

Elsewhere things are progressing as planned for the allied side at least. Building and upgrading things and making first few plans... stay tuned.

Bases captured by Japan: Tijilatjap, Pegu, Probolinggo, Cheribon, Port Blair, Lautem, Ruteng, Tarakan, Denpasar and Kalidjati.
