In Italy, the raid on Kesselring misses - the bombers did so badly that the forests weren't even a factor in the defence.

However, the strike on the German ARM corps in the mountains, despite being marginal, succeeds.

Astonishingly, I forgot to take a screen capture of the ground strike on Rome.
It's worth nothing, because it was such an important strike, that it succeeded brilliantly, disorganizing all the defending German units.

On to the ground strikes made by the Allies in preparation for Overlord.
The Allies miss the armoured corps in the Rhineland.

They also miss the beefy infantry corps in Rouen.

Annoyingly, they miss the long-range bomber and anti-tank gun in Vichy. The forest was crucial in keeping the anti-tank gun from being hit.

Even more annoyingly, they miss Rundstedt - disorganizing Rundstedt would have left the German defence completely crippled.

The Allies do hit the PARA corps in Rotterdam.

They also hit the infantry corps in Brest, which will be great for the follow-up attacks after the invasion.

Best of all, the Allies completely disorganize the hex near La Rochelle, leaving an SS MECH corps and the best short-range bomber unit in the entire game spinning their wheels.

Land Movement, Debarkation, Invasion
As noted in a previous post, only the US performed rail movement, sending an engineer division from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast.
As far as land movement & related activities goes, here is the Red Army manoeuvre in Finland, which will force a response by the Finns (the Siberian infantry unit has cut overland supply off) - or perhaps even better, force the Germans to call a combined impulse to move out convoys.

In the central sector, the Red Army takes Pskov and sets up to attack the infantry stack near Vitebsk.

The Red Army shuffles a bit in the south, and especially in Bessarabia, where it encircles Chisinau.

The Communists shuffle forward to take Chengchow, and shift their mobile forces northward to threaten the resources (and stay away from Japanese air power).

The British Army moves out of India and into Burma, intent on re-opening a resource lending pipeline to China and beginning the slow process of reaching and liberating Singapore.

... and sends in the Marines. (This is being presented a little bit out of sequence: invasions occur after all normal land moves are done.)
