I am currently having great fun playing the American campaign. I just finished the 3rd scenario, wolfs lair. The battle was supposed to last 12 hours, but was finished after 3 due to sudden death of the Russians. Up to now all scenarios ended with sudden death of the Russians. There were two main battles. One battalion was ordered to defend Westerholz on the Western end of the map. That was a tough fight because it was the "Schwerpunkt" of the Russian attacks and they used the Hinds on this side. At one point I lost the VP, but was able to take it back in a counterattack. At the end the Russian attackers on the western side of the map were completely annihilated.
The second major battle was for Scheesel in the center. I ordered my second battalion to defend Scheesel. I was able to hold the town at great cost. The remaining battalion on the right side had basically nothing to do and was just attacking into the flank of the remaining Russians north east of Scheesel, when sudden death stopped this probably devastating blow dead in the tracks.
Again I have to say this is the greatest game I played in a long time.
