Editor probs

Post by Szilard »

Since the patch (at least I didn't have any probs before).

Creating new scenario; go to load one of the maps provided; program starts beeping continuously, cursor flashing. Have to kill the app via Task Manager.

I think this happens with any map tho haven't tested them all. Unfortunately for debugging it doesn't always happen, but I haven't tested enough to come up with any differential ideas.

Running on Windows 8 with no special anything apart from Norton Anti-Virus.

On another topic: sometimes when I move units around in the editor their readiness reduces, and also if I move them around during the placement phase in-game. Is this WAD?

This is a new one. I have Windows 7 but I went and tested moving my units around in the editor and during scenario setup and the ready for the units I moved around stayed steady. I will ask others who have Windows 8 to check and see if you can duplicate this behavior.

As far as the problem with the editor, I will have to bump this up to Rob.

See attached scenario - just something I'm playing with, not a serious effort.

- In the editor, try moving the M-1 unit at 3815 between its start point and (say) 3517 a few times. On my rig, its readiness will start to decrease after a few switches of position.

- Try setting its readiness to 99% and then save & reload in the editor or in the game. On my rig, on reload its readiness is something less than 99%.

Thanks for this scenario. I tried it in my editor and could not trigger the change in readiness. However, I did trigger another problem. It is late here, so I will be looking at it more in the morning and will get it upstairs to Rob to look at too. What I am seeing and what you are seeing could be related.

Ok, I take back what I just said. I just now saw the change in readiness. Thanks for providing this to us. We will get on this. This is definitely something that needs to be corrected.
