Putting facilities in the water?

Post by Temple »

This is kind of a bummer. I made my first custom overlay tonight for my scenario set "War of the Tiny Islands". The custom image making went very well [:)] but it turns out that the island I'm using doesn't match up very well between the Bing Satellite View and the CMANO coastline overlay. I have a portion of the island shown below so you can see my problem.

My question is, can I trick the game into letting me put facilities into what it thinks is water[&:]? I want to use the whole island as shown in the custom overlay, but right now it won't let me place ground units in what it thinks is water [:(]

Place them on a part the game knows is land, then select one and hit m key and move it onto the water part. Works fine for buildings. Sam might have dlz issues afterwards so wouldn't do it for them maybe

Cool [:)]. I gave it a try and it works for me. I'll run a little scenario test to see if it messes up the combat. Thanks for the help!

Don't do this if you are intending on making .inst files, the units in the water will not load.

Hi Guys,

This issue is a tough one because it has to do with three different sources for the layers not exactly lining up. In this case use the mouse over feature or relief layer to find the land and add the unit there.

Thanks!

Mike please dont "fix" the ability to move things onto the water though. My little Helgoland island depends on it lol

+1!!!

Please don't fix this right now, I need it too for my first scenario, that has a SEAL Team "facility" moving through water and land.
