My Old Kentucky Home

OK....so what is the story now with Kentucky Neutrality? I know this has been changed a few times, and I am trying to figure out what the dates and events are.

I am in a PBEM in Oct 1861. KY is still neutral. I do have the option, in the Strategic Tab, to pay 3 NM to enter KY; from the event description, this also opens it up for the Union, and enrages Kentuckians (this is exactly what happened IRL when Polk occupied Columbus)

It appears that Northern KY is active for the Union (Lexington/Louisvile) during neutrality, but everything else is blocked-off

I'm not selecting that option though. So, now what?

1. Does the Union have the same option?

2. If neither of us ever selects it, what happens?

Good to know thanks!

I checked mine, it's -5 Morale, and 30 VP. That's it.

It obviously doesn't make sense for the Confederates to select it, so does KY OPEN at some point on it's own?

in late july 61 I as the union had an event fire in which the union established a camp in ky a camp robinson I believe which enraged the confederates and led to ky seceding from the union.

I've seen that happen against AI, but didn't in our game. KY did not join the Confederacy.

So, now what?

I had the event fire for Camp Robinson but that didn't open Kentucky except for 3 regions at the top of Kentucky. I did not move that troop. Along about Nov/Dec 1861, the Confederates finally decided to violate the Kentucky Neutrality. It's open for me now and and Kentucky is mostly Union except for some portions down in the SW of Kentucky.

This question was answered on the AGEOD forum; basically, if nobody does anything, KY opens up in mid '62, and flips over to the Union
