Unable to install TOAW3 scenario viewer

Hi there,

I must do something wrong but I do not find exactly what the problem is. So I am downloading the installer for the TOAW3 scenario viewer.

Now, copying TOAWIIIViewer-2.4.0.0.msi.exe on my disk and double clicking on it, a small black DOS command window appears for few seconds and then nothing is installed.

My OS is Windows XP SP3. Are there any third parties that are mandatory for the installer to work?
Note I have the same problem with the TOAWIIIEditor-0.0.4.0.msi.exe.

I recommend the latest version of both and install them in admin mode:

There is no error message. Just the black box showing up for few seconds. But, clearly I never install JAVA on my PC. Is this my missing 3rd party?

The MSI files shouldn't have a .exe executable extension; they should only have a .msi extension and be of type Windows Installer Package (not Application).

Try removing the .exe extension.

Open a command window to see if there is a message. To do so you have to run cmd.exe. On my system that program is found in the c:\Windows\System32\ folder, as shown in the attached screenshot. (I keep a shortcut to this on my desktop, so that it is readily available).

I also had to install .NET Framework 3.5 but once this was done I could install the scenario viewer.
