E-3C Sentry cannot air to air refuel

Hey

I'm still playing Operation lightning strike and I want to refuel my E-3C Sentry from a KC-135R Stratotanker. It has a Centerline Boom / Drogue

I looked online again and the E-3C should be able to refuel in air

I turned off the Radar on the E-3C and still it won't refuel

both are set to unrep/refuel doctrine "yes"?

Alright I've taken a look.

The problem is that your tanker is loitering in one point and flying a continous circle. The E-3 doesnt like that and cant get connected.

Thats why I recommend that for tankers you set up two reference points like 15-20nm apart, make a support mission out of them and assign the tanker to it, so itll fly legs. Then the Sentry wont have issues.

Now in this case the Sentry has really gotten messed up somehow so to fix this one i recommend you do this:
- Set a straight course for Shell of at least 30 nm. And set him to loiter speed.
- Tell the E-3 to RTB, then right click him and unassign him again. Then set him on a straight course towards Shell, order him to refuel, up his speed to 480 and he should do it.

If it doesnt work let me know and i could make a video for you tomorrow to show you.

Note that Shell doesnt have enough fuel to top him off. (you might wanna try using KC-10s for the big planes like E-3s)

I'm doing exactly what you said. I've assigned all my tankers to a support mission

from here I'm going to test the air to air refueling.
