So, who's available to play this game on weekday mornings...

World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

So, who's available to play this game on weekday mornings...

Post by Ubercat »

.. Eastern US time?

I haven't played WIF since the early 90's with the Edition that was current then (5th?). That was just a few solo games and I never got far due to being unable to make any sense of the submarine strategic warfare rules. I read and reread them many times and just couldn't grok them. It kind of put a dent in the battle of the Atlantic!

It will probably take a bit of time for me to get up to speed on the game, and I'm not positive that I can order it on release day, but I didn't think it was too early to fish for an opponent. Any fellow newbs want to learn with a partner? Any veterans want to start with an easy target?

That sounds good. I typically get up around 8:40 - 9:10.

Who has East Asia always been at war with?

OMG! No one can answer my question?? This isn't a "One Direction" fan forum, full of vacuous teenagers. All the brains here and no one caught it?

I'm hoping it's just that no one thought it was worth responding to. The alternative is too scary.

Eurasia has always been at war with Oceania. Just now seen it. Do not send me to room 101. 2 legs are bad. 4 legs good.

Edit: What did I win? Leave it to the under-educated country boy who has widdled his fair share of sticks to get the obscure literary questions correct.

well ubercat where you at? Was I correct? Besides, it was Eurasia not East Asia. Didn't you learn anything from Winston at the Ministry Of Truth?

Are you at a One Direction concert? lol [>:]

I live near Allentown, PA. I haven't read 1984 since, umm ..... 1984. I was sure that East Asia was one of the three superpowers, though. Oh well.

I may need a few weeks to get the game myself!

Close enough. I knew what you meant. To think it was written in '50 I think. Incredibly profound. And frightening.

I have the DL now, will need a bit of remedial WiF (its been 25 years since I played live not counting solo about 8 years ago) but pm me some contact details, we can probably use my internet community's teamspeak server for live bits (as you are well aware this game is 3 hours of boredom followed by 30 seconds of sheer terror!)

I ended up buying the game last night after reviewing my finances and seeing that it was only $100USD.

I have a sh*t ton of tutorials and training vids to go through, plus important R/L stuff[:(] but I hope to be able to play an actual opponent in 2-3 weeks. I'll be in touch.[:)]
