Or you could use the old Babe and Switch. Be super nice all evening waiting on her hand and foot. Make it memorable.

Then the next morning when you are looking glum and she asks whats wrong? you say Not much....(dramatic pause).....It's just that all my single friends are getting this game and when I told them I couldnt they all said that is why they are still single. (remember to do this while last night is still fresh in her mind, yes, before pissing her off in the morning if possible)

She'll be shamed into doing what is against her good nature. No way are them single guys gonna have one up on you. She wont have it. Guilt, when applied correctly, can get some things done.

That'll be $25.

Whats that? Oh, you're welcome.

p.s. Don't forget to tell her how great of an idea it is of hers to get the game. Never let this one seem like your idea so, come bill time, it wont be used against you.

Plan 2 gets a little more deviant. Do you have access to a shovel and a bag of lime?

Does Plan 1 really work?

As for Plan 2, a boat and the 12 mile limit,

It has to work. I've seen it on an Afterschool Special starring Scott Baio. And Choachi would never lie.

Plan 2? Nothing beats a hog. They'll eat everything. Round here they call it 'Gone Missing'. YMMV

This is one place where Steve's STRATEGIC PLANNING has come into play. I have been telling my wife for many years.... I am going to buy this game when it comes out. I predict she will encourage me to get something else (like an extra monitor) just because I have patiently waited so long.

She is smart. She knows. We have been married for 25 years and I keep telling her that even murderers get out after 20.... This game is cheaper on her than a parole hearing!!!

You know there was a time I thought he could take on the whole Red Army. Now, looking back, I think he needed help opening a bottled Grape Nehi.

Pity, it's Thursday in New Zealand right now, but I'm not in New Zealand.

I wonder if being in tomorrow helps?

Greyshaft is the first poster in this forum. Would have been cool to give him the first download.

Hi guys,

Just FYI we are still working through some final QA issues with the store as of this morning. I would not expect an early release based on this.

OK sounds like we have the 5% possibility that the game is available later then mid day. [8|] (sounds like playing WiF)

Hmm what does that mean for me. I living in Switzerland so when it is 12.00 EST it is 18.00 here (still one hour to go). But it is coming later. They will do some lunch breack at 12.00 - one hour. Then some time to actually fix the Problem - again about one hour. This means 20.00 if it works perfect. If not there will be 3-4 hours till everyone is going home. So i am guessing worst case for switzerland is shortly before midnight, still on 07.11.2013. [:D]

The imagination reels.....

Scene: A bunker somewhere near the frontier.

[sounds of morse code in the background]

a lieutenant walks up to the two generals and two parliament members with a large note card

LIEUTENANT: Sirs, we have noticed a huge increase in message traffic. We feel that this may indicate an impending invasion of our firewall!

GENERAL: Let them come! We are ready. We have added additional T1s in preparation for this attack!

LIEUTENANT: But Sirs, this amount of chatter hasn't been seen since the last crusades between the AIers and the PBEMers. Our crypto teams suspect they have joined forces to egg on an attack from the brothers and sisters of IWIN.

PARLIAMENT: Who?

LIEUTENANT: IWIN. The dreaded forces of I Want It Now.

PARLIAMENT: Oh.

GENERAL: Oh My!

LIEUTENANT: Apparently AI and PBEM have convinced IWIN to storm the beach head with promises of following up once the situation is more fully developed.

GENERAL : Good! That will split their forces. We will be able to easily withstand such a piecemeal attack!

LIEUTENANT: Sir, Yes Sir! Or rather Sir, No Sir!

GENERAL : I beg your pardon?

LIEUTENANT: Sir. Begging the General's pardon, sir. The crypto team is betting their rights to early release of next week's patch that this is a diversion.

GENERAL : A diversion?

LIEUTENANT: Yes sir. A diversion. Crypto predicts that the AIers and the PBEMers actually intend to storm the circuits ahead of the IWINs and are LOL-ing them to sleep before the real complaining begins.

PARLIAMENT: OMG!

GENERAL: WTF?

LIEUTENANT: The real complaining. We have decoded messages that indicate the new talking points will be about how this release was delayed too long. They will complain that industry standards dictate that it should have been released in an unfinished state months ago. They will point out that no game is expected to work properly until after the third patch. THEY MAY ACTUALLY TAKE TO FACEBOOK and COMPLAIN THAT THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO BITCH WERE ERADICATED BY THE QUALITY OF THE SOFTWARE AT RELEASE!

PARLIAMENT: I say, old chap, you are positively foaming at the mouth.

GENERAL : aside Someone bring me a towel.

LIEUTENANT : They are going to try to gin up something to complain about by crashing the download site when they all unexpectedly buy the game EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T UNLESS IT HAD THEIR FEATURE!!

GENERAL : Thank you lieutenant. This bit of intelligence may be crucial to our plans. I propose we delay the opening of sales for a few hours while we list those who said they wouldn't buy it and prevent them from being able to during the first wave.

PARLIAMENT: By Jove, that is a great idea!

Hi guys,

We are now placing what we hope are the final test orders. If they look good, we'll release in the next hour or two. If not, it will be a bit later while we iterate again.
