Synch bug

Post by SqzMyLemon »

I think I've just had my first ever encounter with the synch bug that I've often seen people mentioning. Having heard about this problem many times, but never experiencing it myself, what do you do? What do you trust and what do you ignore? Does what apears on the map accurately reflect what really happened during the turn? Did the actions I witnessed during the replay actually happen? For example, I had a naval airstrike against a Japanese SCTF where a BB was hit once and a CA hit twice, yet the combat report doesn't indicate this action occurred at all. Other actions indicated in the report are not what I saw during the replay. Other actions had me shooting down enemy aircraft seen during the replay, yet none of those aircraft types appear in the intelligence report as losses.

Is there a fix? Do you need to rerun the turn? What do you do moving forward to avoid this problem? Any insight or help would be appreciated. I'm holding off completing my next turn because I don't know what to base my orders on.

The Japanese CR is always the correct one. Nothing you can do to avoid it I´m afraid as it happens quite regularly. But ask your Japanese opponent to always send his CR with the turn file. That was you can easily compare your generated CR with the Japanese one. I just compare filesize to make sure they match. Takes only a few seconds and negates the need to read through both CRs.

We have had a lot of this. Especially concerning ground combat lately. But strikes that fly in the allied replay but actually never did is quite common too.

What he said...have your IJ opponent attach the Combat Summary file from his replay. That is the correct one.
