Video Crashes

Post by GBOATZ »

Curious if anyone is having a similar Video problem. Game specs state
OS: Windows XP SP3 / Vista / 7 / 8
CPU: 1 GHz (Dual-core Pentium and above recommended)
RAM: 1 GB (2GB+ recommended)
Video/Graphics: DirectX 9.0c compatible video card with 16 MB RAM

I have Windows XP SP3, Pentium D 3 GHZ Processor, 2GB Ram, ATI Radeon X300 128MB Ram

Yet every time the action gets good or I zoom in, the game crashes. Is that me or something I should report as a problem?

And this is only for Canary Cage. What happens when I get on a really complicated scenario?

I have little problems and then I did have the computer crash twice once I started using the message box as a separate window. Not sure if that caused a problem. Just wondering, do you use the message box as a separate window?

Hello,

1) Which build are you using? Current public build is B451.

2) Next time you have a crash can you please post on this thread the autosave file?

Thanks!

The game can be crash-prone, especially when the action gets hot and heavy. Slowing the action down when you anticipate hectic encounter that might cause a crash sometimes gets you through it.

The game has crashed on me a total of 1 time, back on 1.00, and i did something UI stupid. I am finding it to be pretty darn solid as far as crashes go.

No, but I did have the SOUND effects turned on. I turned them off as well as just about all the map features. It is also a little annoying when I set up a ASW patrol in front of my ships and then can't find them in the clutter without cycling through the Unit View! I wonder if there is a way to "hide" the sonobouys?

Okay I now have updated to Build 451, will go back to the game and see if that is an improvement. Thanks for your insight and apparently, my lack of "eye-sight" in not keeping up with the jones.

And acknowledge your request to send the auto save next time there is a problem. I know that you are all doing your best to make this a great game and I hate to say this, but my wife is not too pleased that I spend far more time and am more excited about it than her! I explained there is no need to be jealous as I started playing Harpoon long before I met her (somewhere in the late 80's or early ninety's) and didn't get married until 2001! After all, a man has got to set his priorities!

Yeah Blighty, but Matrix was only 79.00. A New computer is over 300 and I just HATE Windows 8!

No, what I did was put a lock on my office door and wear a pair of headphones. I'm a Work At Home Remote Computer Tech so she probably thinks I'm in my office working! 8-D
