What does the "-0" mean at the end of service date on some variants? Like 1982-0 vs 1982-1999.

still in service I believe, as opposed to 1982-1999, taken out of service in 1999, or in-service between 1982-1999

These are all for the same class.

Most of them. Just look at any CVN in DB3000. I know you're trying tom help, but bet a developer answer instead of taking me down 20 questions.

I can go into the db and immediately find a unit with multiple entries like above.

Well, just glancing at one entry (CG47 Tico)
"1985-0" looks appears to be a configuration/refit that is relevant from 1985 until the next upgrade
"2000-2004" means a configuration with a definite termination (e.g., a decommission)

Looking at CVN Enterprise, the major 1990 overhaul qualifies 1990 as a "termination" date for the earlier configuration of Enterprise, even though the ship continued in service.

Anyway, that's what it looks like to me...

It doesn't seem consistent. I have seen some that never have a termination date.

Hopefully a dev can come in and answer it. I am going back through the manual and see if I missed any explanation.

Yes, a zero means there is no cut-off date for that variant.
