Need advise on my situation

Post by towerbooks3192 »

Just returned. I have been trying to play on and off but there are some things that I just don't get. Now I kind of got used to the balancing act and trying to counter units, etc.

Any advice on how I could turn the tide? I have been slowly driving them back and I managed to defeat the rebels (2 spawned from boxes early in the game) and I was dealing with them until the 2 AI managed to land on my shores. I had to make a shipyard up north to field some ships as I was unable to hold the southern city.

Last question, good fleet composition and effective use of submarine? and I still don't get what I should be looking for (other than readiness or something) in order to know where to attack and if it is safe to do so.

Cheers!

Have trouble uploading my screenies. BUt based on the one I posted here. I managed to drive every single troop of my soil. The nearest Island is a small one with a city controlled by one of the AI and 1 raw material resource. I have trouble gaining naval superiority and don't know a thing about naval battles. I tried fighting a single cruiser with 2 battleships and I still lose. I don't know what I did wrong.

I also have trouble consolidating my troops and choosing which one remains and which ones would go with my invasion force. I want to secure small island as a naval base or go south and maybe capture a city down there to get a foothold in that big land mass.

Re ships: be sure to include some CAs and DDs in the same unit with the battleships.

Re screenshots: make sure the file isn't over 500KB and is a jpg or gif file type.

Re Invasion: Unless you get real lucky and can capture a port city you are going to need to land an engineer unit (40-60 strength points minimum) in order to build a port ASAP, get a HQ on the port so that you can start directing production to it. If you expect strong resistance, come prepared with the right mix of unit types.

You need to let any ships you build get some experience before sending them out. At least 30 but better off getting close to 40. If you send them out with 10 experience or the like they will get sunk by much smaller ships. I had a couple of cruisers with low experience once lose to a destroyer, and one of the cruisers got sunk.

That clears things up! I have a fleet with 2 Battleships, 4 Destroyers and 4 subs and lost about 2 destroyers and a sub and its sort of my intercepting fleet. I managed to sink some but like I said, I don't know why I got owned by 2 cruisers.

As for my progress with the game, it is taking a back seat as exams are coming and my semester is looking grim but would post an update at around the week after next or by friday next week. I am curious though, is there an easier way to upgrade troops like when I get rifle/smg 2, do I have to manually upgrade everything in the field or is there a place where I could just click something to upgrade all existing units?

There is a mass uprade button in the statistics window. I think under OOB.

Be advised that if you "auto upgrade" everything it can cost you a lot of supply. Also when you select the Supreme HQ (as in Webizen's picture) and then do a Auto upgrade *all* eligible units will be upgraded. If you click on a lower HQ the units subordinate to that HQ will be upgraded.
So if you have supply enough you can click on the SHQ and then Auto upgrade everything, if your supply is a bit low then click on a lower HQ and then click Auto upgrade.

I will keep it in mind. Thanks Josh. I will do a massive upgrade as my units are still on my island while my ships are defending my shores. I am also trying to gather an invasion force so I could land on the next islands until I could bring the fight to my enemies.
