Please check that you are running the latest version: 1.0.2 (also known as v1.02).

I am seeing people have problems with fatal bugs that were fixed with the 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 updates.

Steve, you might like to tell people how to find the version number. I'm not too bright, I'll admit, and it took me some time to find it in the help menu.

There's a "Check for update" item on the Main menu screen when you fire the program up.

The version number is also part of the window title on the opening screen. An updated game will have the title "Matrix Games World in Flames (version 1.0.1)"

Possibly, but that is a sweet looking counter you're using as your avatar.

The Beaufighter. Two engines followed closely by an aircraft. An underrated aircraft with a heavy punch and good survivability.

You might ask/PM Froonp. He has done the MWIF counter avatars for many people.

I can't get mine to download the 1.01 version. When I try, it sits on the downloading update info/creating handle box for a minute and then goes Error:Update info could not be downloaded?????

Time to ditch this thread? We've moved well past v1.0.2.
