Ability to save a gave while in battle

Hi,
Can someone tell me whether any of the Matrix remakes of the Close Combat series have the ability to save a game in battle? I don't believe any of the original series had this function. It would make it easier for me to finish a game against the AI.

None of the Matrix (nor the previous Atomic) Close Combat games allow you to save during an individual battle.

You can choose/set the battle duration between 15 to 60 minutes, with most people choosing 15 or 30 minutes for WAR/TLD and 15, 20 or 30 for LSA. Thus you do not lose too much time if you have to quit during a battle....
