Screen Momentarily Goes Black...

... but it always comes back. AND! I see what appear to be bright flashes where the whole screen goes white for way less than the 30msec human persistance of vision.

What is going on? Not a game killer but annoying.

Running an nvidia GTX 560 with 2Gb RAM on Win7 home premium 64b with 8Gb RAM. Latest and greatest non-beta nvidia drivers installed.
Been running with this setup for the past 2 years without issue - something's different with CW2?

Any ideas?

Sorry, missed this post. This is most certainly a video driver problem, as there is no known bug about this flickering on our side. Can you try running the game in a window and see if it remains, you can use the AGEsettings utility for that. If the problem remains, you should probably contact Matrix helpdesk, as for video drivers issues they have much broader knowledge than me.

Thanks for the response.

With 2GB RAM on the video card and 8Gb system RAM I didn't think using the highest texture settings would be an issue but it seems it is. Changed to the next texture setting down from the highest and that seems to have resolved the issue.

Now one wonders if CW2.exe is a 64 bit executable or is 32 bit and subject to 32 bit parameters re: memory.
