Best option for game performance.

Post by AdmiralSteve »

I'm curious if the continuous builds that have been made to the game will help performance, i.e. pulse times and high AU Count scenarios, on low end machines or will hardware upgrades on my end would be better.

My machine specs;
AMD E-300 APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 1300 Mhz, 2 Cores, 2 Logical Processors
4.00GB Installed Memory, 15.3GB Virtual Memory

The game works well in all aspects except when the AU Count gets over 150. At this point, the game becomes so slow even in 1 second time compression that it becomes unplayable.

I've tried shutting down every unnecessary service and process on my computer and can only get as low as 25% on memory usage.

Thanks Mikmyk, Sunburn and the others. Great product and best successes to all of you.

Thanks for the kind words.

There have been several measures to get the best performance possible:

* Build 442 (v1.01 update) has a number of performance improvements. Also, you have the ability to disable hi-fidelity mode in real-time (essentially emulate Harpoon's 1-sec pulse), which grearly boosts performance in slow machines.

* Build 460 has a great performance leap and is strongly recommended for slow systems or for playing massive scenarios.

I have definitely observed a performance improvement in Build 460. Good job.

I would really like to know, how to improve my computer, for better Command performance, please any tips?,

I`ve got an mid range Win7/64, 4GB RAM, Celeron 2400/x2, problem here is that its on an old type motherboard.

In Taskmanager i set priority for Command to "high" but what else could be done here to improve peformance?.

Hello,

Is your problem currently related to map UI performance (pan, zoom etc.), sim-engine performance or both?

Thanks!

Game runs very slooov because i always overbuild scenarios,
I just love big scenarios.
