My review

Post by nico7550 »

Hi,

Here is my fast review after 4 games in a row yesterday with 0.7.4:

It's good for me, as a space fan, I will enjoy to play to the final version.
I was afraid that the graphics look to much as flash games but it's look good :-) (maybe longer animation)
(the explorer satellite don't need to disapear like the USS enterprise !)
I will not lie, it's like to play to BARIS in a modern way with some differences, and that's what I was looking for.

What problem I see:
The hard part of the game seems to be the money management, my unsucces mission rate is really low after 4 games.
Without Rocket Selection, BASPM lose a great component.
Not enough ingenier slot

What problem I have:
UnityWebPlayer Cache became huge... more than 3Go for me (Y:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\LocalLow\Unity\WebPlayer\Cache)
Crash on exit

What I would like to see:
Rocket Selection (please)
Peoples Morale that impact results and that fade with the time until strikes if no social tasks are done
Normal training in addition of dissmissing people option, that way, you may send a person to normal training (personnal developpement) for the half of the salary without losing great peoples !
Astronaut mood level between us, that impact results and that increase with the time until astronaut leave by himself
See people affectation without having to open another windows
More historical and technical information on all the screen, even on mission screen
Is Buzz selectable :-)
A way to review Previous news and to see historical information for reference.
Can you display mission names in R&D screen
Can you display mission names in mission screen
Building highlight :-)
Change color for finished programs
Display scheduled mission in the control building
Don't forget the tourism (in addition to the museum)
Record games actions to have a ghost to beat... (and also I want to be able to share my ghost)
A single place to see all badges and missing ones
Requirements information for Locked programs (in easy only)
Mod support (what will we do in 10 or 20 years when you will no more support the game and that we'll still want to play it ;-))
Sound in readable format
skipable step during missions

Conclusion
As a fan, I will support BASPM, and I will start a new game right now...

Hello Nico,

Glad to see that you liked the game. We're planning to push updates every week, so you'll definitely see lots of improvements soon. Take a look at the changelog thread, which I update on a constant basis as I add more stuff into the game.

Regarding your comments, unfortunately I don't have the time to go through all of them, but rest assured that most of the stuff you mention is in the roadmap. Even mod support, which is something we didn't plan to do, is now in the works. I still have to cleanup the internal tools we use in order to generate the data scripts but, if you're curious, you can take a look at the "Scripts" folder in the installation directory and have a play with those files. They are all XMLs, so you can open them with a regular text editor.

Thanks for the advice, I managed to add the missing X15 flight 3, but cannot manage to link image to it (it's name based ?)
see picture:
hXXp://postimg.org/image/lerntq74z/

To do it, I duplicate every files from the flight 2 (02), rename them to flight 3 (03), change the text entries, adding entries to all the others files where flight 2 label was found. I also move the goal badge reward from flight 2 to 3. Then I duplicate the 02 unity files but when in mission screen, it remains black (even after pressing the play button) and I should close the game because I'm stuck. (I'm not sure but I think that X15 animations have been swichted between flight 1 and 2, the comment of the first flight (01) is related to speed and the animation show edge space reach and vice versa for the second flight (02)).

Can the animation display order being controled using the file found in "SPM-Windows_Data\Scripts\Data Scripts\Mission Simulations Container\Program Category XX Container" ?

I notice that the header comment in the differents X15 xml files (01 et 02, not 00) is related to the test fight.

Hi,

Is there a way to add a species label for the astronaut ? Human/non human...
Chimps missions could be great, and the only needed thing is to be able to recruit chimp astronauts...

Have you some clues for my previous post ?

Apologies, seems I missed this question. With the current version of the game you won't be able to add the animations for the new missions, as all that information is still stored away in the big resources file. I'm planning to open that up at some point, but I need to sort out some technical issues first.
