Sherwood and I have frozen in our match due to some, I shall delicately state, petulance. It was his understanding that we would have a 'quiet' China and that is exactly what I want, however, he became quite (ahhhhhhhhhh) disconcerted when he saw me move in taking all the territory he was vacating.

Actually isn't it more often than not better for him that you go and occupy the territory he abandons? If it requires a garrison then he ends up having to pay for it in VPs. Also I don't get why anyone would abandon territory in a quiet China scenario; isn't the whole point of quiet China that you can't fight meaning that there is no risk holding territory even if exposed?

Does make life a lot easier. He wants a PACIFIC WAR and this is fine by me. With the exception of Changsha, I get all the territory I wanted for the initial phase of the war. My air units will remain active but that will be about it.

I've already bought out two beat-up China ID for 1/3 their full strength cost. Got to like that. They'll be full strength by the time push comes to shove.

Honestly I'm of the opinion that quiet China is better for Japan than the Allies. Japan can move units from China elsewhere while the Allies cannot as China is effectively cut off from the rest of the world. Although maybe that's just cause I'm good at China; I suppose with newbies there is plenty of opportunity for easy VPs by crushing Chinese corps.

I concur with Sangeli. It is now Jan 17th and I have bought out a pair of banged up Infantry Divisions (Dirt CHEAP!) as well as a Brigade. Everything, except for Changsha, is mine to NE, E, SE and SW. Got it practically for free so we'll consider this a GOOD THING.

This game has turned absolutely BORING. Cannot find enemy ships, aircraft, ANYTHING...

Well the best way to beat a Sir Robin strategy is to ignore areas that aren't part of your early game strategy and identify the areas where he does intend to defend in areas that are part of your strategy so you can bypass everything behind it. I recommend sending out small destroyer groups deep into his territory and trying to provoke a response to see where he intends to defend. Worst thing you can do against a BSR is preparing set piece attacks against places he doesn't want to defend in strength wasting valuable time and resources.

After some thought about it tonight, I think you should find a new opponent. I do not really want to go into all the reasons but just say that the game has taken some strange twists both in the game and outside of it. I am not enjoying myself at all and see no reason to continue. You would probably not be happy if we continued since I have ordered all units to disband withdraw back to off map areas or the West coast. I was planning on just sitting around until you won an auto victory or the middle of 1943, whatever happened first.



I'm done.

Time for a new game with a real opponent...

Is there a 'black list' site/thread for opponents with 'issues?' What a waste of time.

My last Post might have been a little strong. Was rather...shall we say...'put out' when he sent that email last night.

Lew and I have been planning to start a new contest for quite some time. Hope he has recovered from losing ALL of Aussieland! [:D] Maybe this game was meant to die so we could get our 3rd campaign going? Let us hope so...

Sorry to hear it. As mentioned before, the point of a quiet China would be to hold your positions, I'd think. Also, your solution of drawing a pink line seemed reasonable, although perhaps your opponent could chime in with his thoughts.

On the bright side you didn't get too far into this game. Looking forward to another interesting AAR shortly.

John, It was serious, I'm sure you could find an opponent in a New York minute, but I would like to be the guy. I'm going to stew a bit over the weekend and either put up or shut up.[8D]. If I my, what is your turn return time table need([:D]) desire ([8|])? When I was playing Terry THINZ I could do an AM and evening, now I am only evening but could swing two then between 5:00-10:00pm est.

ps. I would drop my current AAR and start a new one, I promised myself should I ever start a new game, I would be able to read an opposing thread when it was all said and done. I would request one from my opponent and as I have always enjoyed yours it would be a great teaser to start a game. I always wondered what THINZ was thinking, planning, feeling about our games and never really knew. He's playing the "market" now and has little interest in our two years of digital warfare.

I too would love to throw my hat in the ring, but i'm involved in two games already and think the third would be too much to give my full attention to... this match against Zuluhour would be required reading!
