initial bugs

I downloaded the game and it seems to have missing pieces. I have the DVD. My question is is it possible to correct these problems by re installing the game from the dvd? Or will this cause more problems? Should I uninstall the original downloaded game? Thanks.

When you unzipped, did you put the contents all in a newly created folder? This is typically the problem for a reported bug as you describe.

Edit: Try that first, then run the EXE.
