Lastly, plenty of good wisdom in this song. One of my favorites for sure. You don't go writtin' hot checks down in Mississippi.

I'd say Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship were one of the few bands that transitioned well through the decades. Winds of Change was their first transition and one of their better albums. The Stones were another and probably Ozzy too.

Indeed. Planes Trains and Automobiles is one of the 6 or 7 movies in existence that always chokes me up at the end.
John Candy should have won an oscar for that one.

And so at the halfway point we have:
Arcade Fire - Ready to Start
Michael Jackson - Don't Stop Till You Get Enough.
McFadden and Whitehead - Ain't No Stopping Us Now.
Underworld - And I Will Kiss
Cee Lo Green - Mary Did You Know?
Blutengel - Silent Death
Emily Browning - Asleep
Soft Cell - Say Hello, Wave Goodbye
Westlife - Flying Without Wings
George Michael - Careless Whisper
A final 10 is proving very very difficult. Abba, Keane, Depeche Mode, Beethoven, Peter Gabriel, A-ha, Kate Bush should all have songs in there, but that would leave just three!!! Goodness [X(]

blå brigader
(free translation by yours truly)
We have rested beneath the stars, waiting for battle
Awake we have rested in a cold November night
Dawn is coming, this fog will not disperse
Going home in thoughts about my farm
There, beneath the same stars, my wife has slept
At dawn she awakes, and starts the daily struggle
She is a beautiful woman, but hard is her life
And soon the ground will freeze hard
19.000 men move forward as one
March forward at Lützen to meet the enemy
Old veterans and many a young recruit
Lift their weapons and towards the battle they march
My place is here in the line, one among many of the blue
And beneath this banner I've walked for many years
Around me, I see friends, amongst those that still live
Even rememeber those that are gone
A lion has greeted us, and told us "fence well"
A lion has called for us, we know he is with us
Our blue brigade march forwards, now they sound the generral advance
Let me live, give victory to our army
19.000 men move forward as one
March forward at Lützen to meet the enemy
Old veterans and many a young recruit
Lift their weapons and towards the battle they march
We have rested beneath the stars, waiting for battle
Awake we have rested in a cold November night
Now I can hear drums speak, trumpets sing out
Fog clears and our wait is over
19.000 men move forward as one
March forward at Lützen to meet the enemy
Old veterans and many a young recruit
Lift their weapons and towards the battle they march
Old veterans and many a young recruit
Lift their weapons and towards the battle they march
19.0000 men walked forwards there as one
A walk in November once, long ago
