Allied push to the north temporary slow down. GJ is working to buildup AF on Kusaie Island sending troops and supplies on LCI & LST. Tanaka is doing great job sinking them, he already sunk over 30 of LCI & LST + numerous PT boats. My fighters were challenged only once over island. 40 Gorges meet 57 Hellcats, both sides lost ~ 10 planes.

Allied forces show up like a UFO at beaches of Timor. I had there patrolling 12 x H6H4 , they did not spot single ship until landing & bombardment stared, very strange.
Defense air units were grounded by several strong BB bombardment. However there was small accident, I moved my Betties from PM to area without changing orders, as result all of them lunch attack on landing ships. It cost me 72 planes and 20 crews.
My light cruiser squadron ( based at Soerabaja ) arrived at landing area at 2nd night. Result bellow:

Generally speaking GJ hit me hard and he did it when I was off guard. Now I need to build a new defense line. 100K Troops are already loading at Tokyo & Sumatra. I am think of withdraw large portion of my units from Solomons Islands. It seems to me that GJ is trying to outflank and pass islands anyway. I would be very grateful for any hints guys how to setup defenses in DEI right now. I am afraid I do not have KB at my disposal right now. However I have 400 Fighters & 500 TB ( pilots very skilled ).

It's a tough one, and you'll have to probably decide which is the most dangerous advance vector to you from Timor. The Manado, Talaud and Mollucca area would be good to start a stiff second line of defense for that vector. The other way your choices seem to be made for you at Macassar and Kendari, the other deeper Celebes, and the then the islands stretching from Java like Bali (Den Passar).

If you can harry and chip at him while building a second line, maybe get troops on some of the dots so he can't just get them free, then you can slow the advance. Make him prep for everything.

Generally nothing interesting. Allied 4E (20 - 30) raid twice Maloelap and got intercepted once by Shidens from Chuyou-1( Roi Namur ). We manged to shot down 4 B-24 and damage 5 others for no losses.

Some allied convoys and cruisers and destroyers are moving just outside range of patrol boats.

Still bombing LI. It shows that the best platform to destroy LI are Lilly DB (20-30 planes are getting 3 - 5 hits per attack). GJ still have maybe ~200 LI in China.


DEI, Sumatra--Java
Here is a lot of fun. GJ is using para drops to take small islands. He already took Maumere, Ruteng, Memboro, Waingapoe, Pantar.
On my side my Emily PB transported small units to Lomblen, Larantoeka, Salajar, Endeh.

CDR. Izutsu has transported 13th Ind.Mixed Reg with 12 DD with to Bima.
GJ try to intercept raid using CL STF but he missed transport by 40 mils.
Next day CL Perth group was attacked twice by dive bombers of "Bako NGD Det" and Zuiho's torpedo bombers from Soerabaja. Kates didn't score single hit, but Vals scored several hits on CL Perth(8x250kg - heavy fires) and DD Foote(2x250 - fire).

RADM. Takahiko Kiyota with two med carriers and two escort carriers did enter Java Sea the same day (one hex west of Makassar) to finish GJ CLs. But he has found better target, allied group AKA&APA ships unloading troops at Waingapoe without any air protections.
So, he ordered strikes against transports ...

Right now I have over 5 IDs in area, fast transports are just reallocating this units to destination bases. It seams to me my opponent become little flustered by lack of big success. Lucky for me he has found the guilty one, Symon's a/c data. -;)
However I am not sure it will help for long. My N1K-2 with help a few Franks did execute decimation process on his Hellcats next very day after we restored stack a/c data in our game.
Generally I have very good month. GJ make several tactical and strategic mistake in my private opinion and made him pay really high price for all mistakes.

Next day GJ send all his ships deep into Strait of Malacca with out air cover. He was aiming Mini-KB coming from Singa. Hoverer I did predicted such move, so Mini-KB stopped 1 hex of of warp range his SGAs. Next day was very very ... bad for GJ.
His advances were stop by 2 IDs waiting for him in Medan, 60 x LB and BB bombardment task force.
He try to change situation by ambushing by BB(Nagato, Mutsu + CA + 12 DD) with 3 CA and 6 DD, it did not go well either. My DD took whole fury of Fletcher DDs on itself, and His CAs did not score many hits with armor penetration. With help of my BB and overpowered N1K airplanes I have achieved air-supremacy over Sumatra.

Economy is still in good shape.
Supplies and Oil level is dropping very fast. DEI convoys work without problems. Most of allied subs were forced go back home.
Palembang is under siege, but I have manged to move out all oil & fuel. I am using huge convoys with 300 - 500 fighters umbrella to get fuel & oil from Palembang.

I cannot stop Allied LCUs on Sumatra and in Malaya. But I still have air superiority over Malaya, Java & half of Sumatra.

Situation 16-12-44

Allied landed and captured Merak at 03-12-44 with 80 000 troops. Now they are at the gate of Batavia and Buitenzorg.
US navy is penetrating Java sea right now with huge carrier's task force. Soerabaja, Batavia, Semarang, Kalidjati are under navy bombardment every 2nd day two weeks already.

Situation in air looks very different. GJ lately shows very low morale, so we have agreed to drop 2nd best mnv band HR.
Now all his fighters are flying as high as they can, this opened for me several occasion use my level bombers again.


Generally a lot of sweeps on both sides, looses are very heavy. My fighters pool is almost empty. However continuously sweeping allied AFs lower his squadrons morale to point where my fighters can still keeps kill ratio 1:2. My opponent does not handle well heavy loses, so I still can hold him far from Japan.

Very sad news. GreyJoy decided to surrender game due low morale on his side. I must say it, He is great opponent. His operation always were very well prepared and executed. Every time his fores show up I could not do anything to defend my bases except watching. He achieved many times surprise and hit hard Japan forces many times.

Surrender background:
Allied Navy and Air forces run several operation against Singapore last couple days.
Wake CD guns & 300 mines did amazing job sinking several allied destroyers and two cruisers. 40 x B72A found BB Indiana next days, 7 hits by type 91 did the job.
Allied 4E attack meat my 200-300 plans cap loosing a lot of a/c. Most of allied sweeps comes one again after bombers. As result for allies took heavy losses in escorting fighters & bombers, and sweeps did not meet any resistance from my cap.
To my surprise my base was not really saved by K-94,Ki-93,Ki-84. Base was saved by Ki-44-IIc (75% of kills).


Current Empire situation:


Singapore is defended only by 40th Division(evacuated from Batavia by air tran) and lot of av,engineers,AA units. For unseen reason allied try to close base from sea and air 3 times and did not try land attack.
I have 5 Divisions (200K troops total) on Java. Attack on Batavia was repeal only because 2 my Divisions from Buitenzorg make the way just on time.

Generally my main line is broken. Next planed line was on line Canton - Takao - Manila - Davao. However I do not have there to many forts or supplies to build them.

1/4 of my supplies are cut off in Singapore/Batavia/Palembang. (400K Singa, 80K Batavia, 35K Palembang).
Chines HI does not work one month already. But home islands HI still works and with fuel supplies for 5 months.
