To JWE and DaBabes team:

Thank you again for your dedication to enhance the WitP AE experience. You are investing a lot (probably more than the average player assumes) of work and - and this is the important part - it shows.

Now, my good old opponents and myself have a game in the pipeline (DBB-C with extended map). From what I have seen in John´s post on the main forum, the main focus of this long awaited update is AA ballistics, the new airframe variables, and modifications to LI to compensate for lack of HI supply production.

While attempting not to sound greedy (and probably failing), recently I have found some topics apearing, which hint that there is something more in the pipeline (e.g. China - maybe a refined extended map which I very much would look forward to?).

We are three patient guys, our last PBEM took more than 3 years, so we do not have a problem to delay a bit if there is a reason. What we would like to avoid is to start a game with another enhancement showing up a couple of weeks later without the possibility to integrate into our game.

So my question would be: Is there another release in the works scheduled within reasonable time that justifies a delay of our game start? I am aware that you might not want to mention specific dates, but some information still would be highly apprechiated. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Howdy Baron.

Nope. The one coming out this evening is going to be it for a while. I don't like doing changes all the time. It really messes players up.

The really nasty China road map is just pwhex stuff and that can get dropped in any time, but it's not finished yet. Also I have to do the Allied AI stuff for BigBabes first. I promised that for Christmas.

You should be fine starting a game with the new update without worrying about a bus coming down the autobahn. [8D]

Thanks for the kind words. Hope you like the new tweaks. JWE

Thanks for the detailed response JWE!

I agree with the "one big change at a time" approach, thats why we always avoided regular beta .exe updates. Constant upgrading is always a potential cause for issues, also many of the reported synch bug problems are related to it IMHO. We played with a stable version and only one upgrade for 3 years in the last PBEM campaign and never had a major issue.

The plan is to upgrade to latest beta before launch and stay there for a while. That said I will be watching your China pwhexe closely. I like what I see there.

But for now we are very much looking forward to get Don´s and John´s Babies to war. [:D]
