Ok - have turned off my message rules (I only had one - any email containing certain words got deleted off the server automatically) and Doomed can now send me turns.
Raver - you need to resend that turn (Is obvious it kept arriving?). It will arrive amidst ten or fifteen SPAM emails, offering me all sorts of XXX deals (just enter my credit card number here etc.), a fantastic "scientifically proven - doctor endorsed pill for permanent "enlargement" (although the doctor's name is John Johnson from Jacksonville USA . . . ), lots of ideas of where to send my money to refinance bad credit, and of course, sell my kidneys for $$$!!!!
Am awaiting the re-turn . . .

It's incredibly frustrating being on the internet. There are thousands of lonely, beautiful girls out there begging for a hot stud but I just can't find an enlargement pill that works.

Can we get some updated ship sunk/crippled lists posted? I'm amazed Raver can find any Allied ships to send into battle anymore aganist the Japanese navy.

Scores so far:
As requested by Soulblazer, a score update and sunk ships list.
From the stats here it is easy to spot where I'm winning and where I'm not. Also please keep in mind North Carolina was hit by 3 torpedoes at Noumea and was crippled before being rushed back to Pearl, as well as Lexington had to be 60 or 70 sys damage from repeated small bomb hits and a torp hit, while Enterprise was in even worse condition (absolutely shattered her - amazed she survived to get back to pearl). Those Two CVs and BB don't appear on the score card because they didn't sink, but they are certainly out of the game for the rest of the "year".
Considering I get about fifty attack reports from my planes shooting at Raver's sub blockade at Truk, (haven't hit a thing) Raver is way further ahead in the ASW game than 5 to 1.
Pleased with my success vs USN destroyers and DMs. Will make it difficult for him to escort transports later in the game - especially if he keeps loosing them. As for the cruiser count, the 3 USN sunk CAs are all big and new and worth lots of points, while only 1 of my sunk CAs was a big one, the others were the older, less armoured models that aren't worth that many points.

USN base score: 2818

IJN aircraft lost: 493 (most died sinking Ravers CVs - including about a hundred float planes).

IJN troops lost: 80 Would have been much more even if I hadn't tried to take bloody Vanu Lava.
USN ships sunk 61, for 1199 points
IJN ships sunk 24, for 348 points
I'm in front, and if I can just keep the pressure on Raver's fleet, I'll be able to fend him off in the later stages of the game and hopefully hold enough base points to keep me in front. If I can sink another 20 destroyers Raver's ASW will go to hell and my subs can start offensive missions again.

I am doing what I am paid to do as allied supreme commander, sink Jap ships!
Pearl must be happy with me as well, as they keep sending sh1t loads of shiny new ships for me to play with.
Luskan has something like 300 aircraft on ASW just to counter 6 subs! LOL And he STILL has not sunk one (mind you with all the crash dives that they have to do, they are burning fuel faster than a Jap BB !).

Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I just ment it seemed awfully one sided to the Allied forces -- at least it seems that it's not quite so bad now.
And of COURSE the Enterprise made it -- she's the luck ship of the war!
Looking forward to the next post.

All silent on the Pacific front for the moment. I've managed to send half a dozen damaged DDs back to Tokyo, while there are still a couple of CLs, a really badly mauled DD, and a scratched CA that I still need to sneak past Raver's sub blockade.
All the crash dives they do avoiding my planes makes them short of fuel so they've pulled back for the moment - Raver's nearest base to Truk is Luganville, so thankfully they didn't have all that much fuel to start with.
After reviewing my limited success in Raver's territory I have scratched a few of my "usual" plans that I pull out when playing the IJN. A few tactics have gone out the window in place of some revised ideas - bleeding his surface force down more would be nice - but isn't worth the risk of loosing mine (to his LBA - not worried about his fleet - 1 BB, 8 or 9 CA, 2(?) CLs, and thirty DDs against my 6 BBs, 15 to 20 CAs, 1 CL (only one undamaged) and fifty (??) DDs with long lance torpedo habits can only end one way.
If only there was a way to have the Jutland style head to head surface battle all in one . . . . even better - during the day in confined waters with no aircraft in range!

The challenge
Just on that previous thought:
* Luskan smacks Raver with a rubber glove (pink washing-up glove - one size fits all - all sizes smell the same sort of glove)*
Raver - I challenge thee to an honourable duel!
(Raver is supposed to get a choice between pistols or sabres at dawn or noon but I have a much better idea).
The Washington (or any other BB you've got), with 1 CA and 4 destroyers in a TF with whichever commander you wish:
VS
One of my BBs (Yamato at the moment - although some of the others may have less incidental sys damage), 1 CA and 4 of my destroyers.
Head to head - a daylight meeting would be too hard because they'd probably react closer to each other and engage during the night - but you pick a nice hex away from any air zones that is an equal distance from our nearest bases (north west of Luganville and east north east of Lunga would be perfect - wherever those two lines intersect) and agree to keep your subs, CVs, other surface forces in port and out of the fray - and out of the aftermath so that wounded ships get a 3 or 4 day amnesty to limp home.
A hex - a date (preferably not a thunderstorm day, but that probably isn't your choice) - plenty of sea room and a willing foe who won't be late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I KNOW you're tempted . . . or wouldn't you trust me to stick to the rules? :p
I'll even stand down my Betties and Nells, since there probably aren't too many hexes of equal distance from our bases that aren't in their range. Hows that?

Luskan is showing how desperate he needs to raise his standing with the Emperor to be scrabbling for ideas such as challenging me to a duel at sea. I do not parlay with you or even agree to such a foolish adventure and certainly not just so that you can get your face on the front page of the "Tokyo Tribune".
Luskan, I march to the beat of my own drum, if that does not satisfy you, then you are more than welcome to come on down south and have a yack to me.

My intel reported that the S-boat S-40 was sitting around in port at Cairns doing nothing. I can't remember if whe was already damaged or not - but I had some betties drop a bomb on her anyway - the fire should make submarining in her interesting!
Some payback for the dozen hits Raver has plastered the CL Yubari at Lunga.

Nah the sub is fine.........pity the CL that was just sunk care off the B-17s! Apart from tit-for-tat bombing raids things are quite, and what with the thunderstorms due in AGAIN I would think that even flight ops will be scaled down for the next turn.

Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
After the last turn I'd like to point out that the all important "I" page had some excellent stats - like the fact that Raver lost 7 B-17s due to operational losses in his big raid on Lunga. Of course, those are the planes my flak and fighters damaged that didn't make it home.
Having checked the aircraft losses tab to see Raver had lost 7 B17s, it also revealed that he has lost 33 since the beginning of the campaign about 3 months ago. I'd say in he's launched about ten or 11 raids in that time, so he's loosing an average of 3 b17s a raid. Not that many when you think it is only 5% of his usual 60-odd heavy bomber raids, but when you consider he has only had 21 replacements since the start of the game (7 a month for 3 months or so) I'm ahead by 12.
I wonder if it is because the b17s can't find the airfield under the non-smoking airplane icons?
The Yubari was at 99 sys and 40 flt when she entered Lunga - and I knew that Raver's port raiding habits would ensure she never left. Should have sunk her in extremely shallow moorings to act as a harbour fort . . .
Heavy thunderstorms and rain are keeping my fleet in port in order to avoid incidental damage - while Raver is happily building a nest of little bases on every dot north of Luganville (but he hasn't gone further than Vanu Lava yet - although my recons are going to scout Gavigamana as soon as possible).

Bad weather in this PBEM has been unbelievable - I think it is a bug.
Last 10 turns have been:
Thunderstorms
Overcast

Partly cloudy
Clear
overcast(? forgot to record this one - but know it wasn't clear or thunderstorms).

Has been like this all game - you can't sail a ship from A-B without it getting hammered by a storm and costing my IJN weeks in port. Weather has caused more damage than Raver so far! Zeroes AREN"T the plane of choice for flying in a storm! I suppose they don't get hit by lightning as much though.
