Naval abort issue

Been doing pretty well, error wise, during my recent play. Today I ran up against the "Please wait, updating Units in Hex panel." again. This was a very small, simple, naval interception by the Brits against an Italian transport, which the Brits easily managed to destroy. For some reason, the app seemed to think there was an abort involved and I couldn't exit the combat; had to kill the app. Totally stuck in the Naval Combat Abort Digression phase. Sometimes in these locks you can select another allied nationality and slide past the error, but in this case the Italians are the only nationality active.

As I said, can't complain lately, but the one lingering frustration are these occasional odd abort errors. Granted, I'm a newbie, so it could be that I'm testing stuff that experienced players would never do, but this combat seemed fairly simple.
