Map and CVL Ryuho

Post by rustysi »

OK, lurker now becoming poster. Two questions.
I'm playing a scenario 1, campaign. Version 1.0.6.1108r9-Jan 21 2012.

Q1. This one not a big deal just wondering if anyone cares. Hotkey 1 shows hexes 44,87 and 45,87 as clr terrain and they are jungle and jungle rough respectively. I believe I've seen a couple more of these on the map but don't recall them currently. I believe that I follow the map graphic for terrain type? (These hexes are NW of Palembang).

Q2. Ship reinforcement screen shows IJN CVL Ryuho scheduled arrival date as 28Nov42. Airgroup reinforcement schedule shows Ryuho-1 and Ryuho-2 arriving 01Nov43. Is this intended?[X(]

Tried to search both topics but only found one unrelated post.

The hotkey will tell you what the code treats them as. If they should be jungle instead...it might be an oversight.

For the Ryuho, that's correct. It's unfortunate, but that's how it is. Don't accelerate her [:'(].

Thanks for the quick response. I'll just stop the Ryuho for now.[8D]

You could do that too, or you could let her arrive on schedule. There's no reason you can't use carrier capable groups on her, or as a replacement for a CV you might happen to lose. There are several Zero/Val/Kate units that are land-based (a.k.a. LBA) for example.

Use the Ryuho as a training carrier. Plenty of LBA Zero, Val and Kate units that you can resize up, and having carrier trained IJN LBA units is a very useful thing indeed.

Thanks guys always good sugestions and alternatives found on this site. Can't imagine how horrable my game play would be without it. Already tanked two campaigns through lack of knowledge, but I'm learning. This ain't your fathers' WitP!!!

In the real war the Ryuho was torpedoed by a sub before getting an air group and after repairs operated Hiyo's air group for much of 1943.
