pre-planned arty timer issue

Post by Tazak »

In scenario editor creating a scenario and trying to 'pre-plan' a NBC strike for the soviet AI using off map 220 CN Rckts, once strike location has been selected I go to use the waypoint editor but get the following messages in sequence

1. Sir, there is no currently assembled group to clear
2. Sir, there is no currently assembled group to clear
3. Grid index out of range

Then I cannot change the time of the strike, nor can I set more than 1 strike location

is this correct? as I'm trying to setup a situation where the AI uses an NBC strike once before I plan for the unit to be withdrawn rather than be nasty and let the AI use NBC weapons throughout

To my knowledge the AI won't use an NBC strike that is gamer triggered only.

To backup MR, NBC attacks are a one and done player activated attack currently. There needs to be additional work done in the AI code to support a more proper use of AI NBC platforms. Even with that, you could not really force an attack in the scenario editor. For that you would need some form of scripted timer event which is not a feature right now. You can start a scenario with contaminated zones on the map, but again there is not way to "trip" this during the game.

Hope that helps a bit.
