Game suggestions thread

Post by Solaristics »

I thought it might also be good if we have one thread where we gather up all the different suggestions people are making about the game to make it easier for the devs to see them and comment.

One things I would like to see is some research/improvements that allow the player to do something with water tiles. While 2 food has some use in the early game, after a while those tiles seem like a waste and it makes me avoid them when I'm founding cities.

Yeah I agree with you, need some sort of tech breakthru that allows to build in the water hexes ala Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, but then again we don't want this game to turn into too much like Sid's game or it will just be a remake of Sids game with pretty pictures. Though I'm all for adding real blind research into the game. It's nice that the research moves the text around but that's not really blind like picking from a catagory and hoping you get what you want. That's real research there. Research should be a discovery not an exact like most research games allow.

Suggestion: add some options for creating random maps (games). I'd suggest using the Advanced Tactics Gold random game generator as an excellent model. There are all kinds of options for generating random games: more or less land, more or less resources, etc.

Edit: Well, some of these features are already in Pandora of course. Still, I think more could be done in this area.

Kill the pop up windows. Too many times I can't see something important happening because such and such is praising me or other nonesense. Keep all messages minamized via the icons and I'll look when I'm ready.
This needs paired with an option to follow enemy movement...(ie:camera follows A.I. moves) when in visable range. Attacks on various fronts is just too confusing when the camera doesn't take you there and pop ups obscure the view if your lucky enough to have the camera there.

Map editor

I'd like to see some DLC add the planed Aliens in.

Full featured expansion...ala Alien Crossfire style...or...focus on the sea. Or heck the aliens could be under the sea. Whatever.

Like the game so far. These are the things I would like to see some improvement:

- Have a way to improve Water tiles.

- Once a Former starts building something to be able to see Turns to Completion.

- To do Ctrl-LC when adding production and have it add it to the top.

- AI does not destroy the improvements when it gets a chance instead just attacks City and loses units. Unless with overwhelming force it should do that instead rather than wasting units on a failed city attack. Forcing the player to attack them to avoid losing improvements.

- At some points enemy troops will come next to the city not attack then leave and become a Transport and let himself much easier to kill, right next to the shore.

- Had a Xenomorph of 1.9 strength went around the enemy city destroying all improvements and the AI had a Seeker ATV in the city and it never attacked me, allowed me to remove all improvements unharmed. The AI also had a Former in the City but I guess it would not use that, not sure why it did not use the ATV to kill me. I had no other troops nearby, all very far away.

Thanks to the Developers. I think you are on the right track, enjoying the game so far, looking forward to future expansions.
