RE: Attention to orders
12th Nov 43
Burma
Japs try and bomb my 4 units moving to cut off Lashio. No damage to my troops but several bombers are damaged. We bombard the stack to the west of Prome for no results.
Madang
We find fighters on LRCAP. 11 Tojos are shot down with another 9 ops and 15 Zeros are shot down with another 10 lost as ops. We lose 2 P 47s in A2A with 5 as ops, 2 Lightning's and 2 more as ops. We also lose 8 Ventura bombers. Looks like Koniu is dropping off a Nav guard unit at the dot base above Madang. I am going to send some DDs up there to see if they are still disembarking troops. I will do a DA at Madang. I hope that I can dislodge or destroy the 3rd Raiding rgt.
Maloelap
DD Bradford try's to fight off a Jap BB led SAG. She takes a hit but puts one shell into the Kongo and one into a DD before she leaves. This SAG plasters Maloelap. AF and base are closed. I lose 3 Hellcats and a Corsair to the bombardment but most of the rest are damaged. I was able to fly out a few to Wake.

Joc: Yes 550 non combat troops lost. Koniu told me that I owe him 6 xAPs, so another one sunk. He also stated that I am not aloud in the "I hate Fletchers" club.

Bombardment TF comes rampaging thru. Yamato with 3 other BBs and DDs come for a visit. I lose 8 small escorts or PT boats. 8 APA, 3 AKA plus troops on board are also lost. I lose a small Seabee unit, TD unit (only had 2pdr guns), and an Aviation base force. I bought back the Aviation base force. They also bombard the AF closeing it and destroying 35 AC on the ground and damaging a bunch more. I am hoping the AF will be open tomorrow. We do put a single TT into the Yamato. These ships went thru 4 different TFs in combat plus one PT group that ran and was attacked twice by air before they bombarded. How much ammo can they have.

Sweeps. I am planning a DA in the hex west of Prome. 3 IDs, 3 BDEs, and 3 Armor units. A bombardment is also planned. Jap troops are moving out of Lashio. So a recon bombardment will happen tomorrow also. I will send in bombers to help the attack before our troops attack also. 5 Jap units are in the hex west of Prome. 1 ID, A detachment of a tank div, 2 arty units, and I think an HQ.

Japs attack from the air. His planes chewed up my CAP with ease. I think he had Georges on LRCAP. KB showed up but didn't participate in the attack, thank god. Mississippi takes 2 TTs and I hope she will make Lae during the night phase. I lose a bunch of xAPs and xAKs. These were the cheap kind. So no big loss. The transports took most of the brunt from the Jills dropping bombs. The TT bombers went after the warships and only got 2 hits. Most of all ships are running for cover. Air loses are 48 Zeros, 26 Georges, 22 Nells, 14 Jakes, 7 Judys, 6 Tojos, 4 Jills and a few others. We lose 21 Hellcats, 19 Warhawks, 7 P47s, 7 P39s, 5 Boomerrangs, 2 Corsairs. I think he had most of his planes in on this battle. I am tempted to launch bombers and sweeps at Rabual. Intel says it still has almost 400 fighters.

RE: Attention to orders
Be very careful with your fighters...they run out fast! Before you go for Rabaul ask yourself if you can take the losses. And if you can keep it closed after that.

RE: Attention to orders
I was thinking about Manus really. It has 106 fighters. My worry is, will Koniu set up LRCAP over it. I think all of the Jap carriers are here. 2 TFs of around 600 planes each. Whoa that's a lot of power projection. I brought in some bombers for night attack at low levels hoping for a lucky hit. Some subs have been vectored into the possible KB movement areas. I know where the KB is now. Not where I want all the carriers to be. Especially since I have moved my carriers into that area.
Burma
I am going to attack that ID again tomorrow. I followed Kurts advise. I am going to clear this hex and move troops south towards Bassien. My hope is that Koniu will have to move some IDs down to road to prevent me from crossing the river and getting a foothold close to Rangoon.

Lashio is captured. We destroy a mortar Bn while capturing it. A tank rgt is cut off and still marching towards Lashio. If he continues on this path I will destroy the unit if not it can rot in the jungle. We also take the hex west of Prome. His ID and tank unit are tore up. I have 2 BDEs and an ID that need RR. The rest will move south towards Basien. I hope to force him to move some units to defend the river crossings. If not I will cross and start to cut off Rangoon.
We sink an I boat in shallow water off Horn Island. Its one of those with a float plane. I love sinking those subs. How many of those does he have? I have sank 11 of them and I know there are more patrolling around the map.
The rest of the map is quiet.
I am a little worried about making a move in CentPac. He has over 1200 carrier AC in 2 CV TFs. I can only muster around 600 in my CV TFs. Not counting CVEs. Damn it hurts loseing those CVs early.

Marshall Islands
I am not for sure how to go about taking Roi Namur. I would like to have atleast one of the AFs open to support an invasion. I am not to keen on sending in my CVs or CVE, with all the Jap CVs in the area. I need to close down Roi Namur so I can open up my other 2 AFs. Do you all have any ideas. The only one I can come up with is to send in a naval Bombardment to try and close it. With the NavS in the area, I'm worried that Koniu will have something waiting on them. I know I can have CVE's covering them. But I wonder am I missing something.

RE: Attention to orders
I think the reality of it is that with the KB so close you will have to let Roi-Namur be for the time being. He will see any invasion coming a mile away. As you can´t really take on the KB you would have to shift focus for now.
Perhaps you could lure the KB away further to the west?

Taung Gyi or the hex to the south of it. We send in bombers and meet Jap fighters. Most bombers go in before the sweeps and without escorts. Took some 2E loses. Loses for the Japs are 45 Tojos and 14 Franks for 18 P39s, 5 Corsairs, 3 P47s, 1 P38. We lose 54 2Es on the mission. We bomb several different Jap units with little results. Koniu also bombs a few of our LCUs for no reults. Just something to do.

RE: Attention to orders
I have a VC air group stuck in the replacement que. While I wait for some news. I will do some more of an update.
Mississippi makes it to MB. She will repair some of the damage before she makes a move to Oz. I have a CVE with DBs on ASW patrolling the area. I know there is one of those I class boats with a float plane around. I just need to find it. I am also ferrying troops via LSTs and LCIs from MB to Lae.
Hansa Bay
5 Jap units are present. 2 Nav guard, raiding rgt, SNLF and another small inf unit are present. I will need some more troops to take Hansa.
Cape Glouster
Nav Guard unit is defending this position.
Rabual
Over 600 fighters are present. Makes me think the Jap CVs are at Truk.
