Windows 8.1 - can't Alt-Tab to Tracker

Hi. For the past year I have ben running WITP AE on my Mac Book Pro Retina in a Windows Virtual machine, or by booting directly into a Windows partition. I run in full screen mode so that I can take advantage of the Mac's ability to zoom clearly into certain parts of the map, and then I alt-tab into Tracker. Due to some other issues, I had to upgrade to the Windows 8.1. Now, when I alt-tab out of WITP AE to use Tracker (or anything else), and the alt-tab back into WITP AE, the screen doesn't redraw correctly and all of the text boxes are corrupted. I have to use Task Manager to kill the game. Running in a Window is not good because the map is not drawn clearly, and so zooming into a poor image only makes a big poor image. Windows 8.1 has broken everything that I like to play. What a piece of work. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I have the latest Bootcamp drivers, which have the latest video drivers.
