Nice work Mr. Fulkerson ! I used to play this one a lot back in the day, and I had a modified version but that is long lost.

I just checked and Diego Garcia is 4500 km from Kuwait, so you could put a distance of 199 on those air bases, which should prevent the Scuds from reaching them.
Yeah, that's one of the problems I'm running into. I'm using the TOAW Scenario Viewer and the TOAW Scenario Editor combo and it
doesn't have the facility to change just everything. I tried using the evil editor and it's a handfull. I'm not sure I want to learn how to
use the evil editor. Are you using something else?

Here's the result of the F-117 air strike on the eastmost Iraqi base. I thought sending it by itself would make the attack so simple that
it would resolve before the B-52's strike on the other airfield. And it did. I'm hoping that the Iraqi aircraft are driven into Reorg so that
they won't fly when the B-52's strike. So there's only the fighters at the other base that the B-52's need worry about and they have 3
squadron's of F-15E's as escort so all should be okie dokie. There's another air strike needed on this base before all the planes are
gone for good.

I'm familiar enough with TOAW that I stick to using its editors. For me, its complicated enough without adding in the possibility of mis-comunication between it and the after market programs (although I understand they work well enough).

This scenario only uses 78 events, so that makes it a little easier to modify on that end (not too much complexity).

Here's a map I grabbed from Wiki that shows the historical movements.

Here's the result of the air strikes on the Baghdad airport. I lost an F-15E but the pilot bailed out over an isolated area on the way back
to the south and was picked up by SAR units. He said his embarassment hurt more than his bruises. So now the airspace over the
Iraqi forces is safe for helicopters and further air strikes can concentrate on the armour.

EDIT: 70% of the turn remains after those two airstrikes. Now's the time to give the armour some attention w/ the helicopters. No, wait,
let's go after the anti-air assets w/ the B-52's and put down their radars and anti-aircraft missles to make the airspace really safe for
a Piper TriPacer ( PA-22, N9545D ). For a spotter.

Okay, so I'll see if I can't find the evil editor manual and go through it and learn how to use it. Etc. Yeah I looked over the events some
and I'm thinking that a lot of them are to withdraw units and to change the shock level on the Iraqi's and yeah, it's pretty simple.

I really appreaciate the map you found. I'll see if I can't duplicate the movements and so on of the original forces. Thanks.

Okie dokie, I'm moving units. I've moved up the 1st Mechanized Division to make a light screen using their armoured assets. The
objective isn't to try to make a hole ( yet ) just to act as a place holder to hold the area until some infantry can arrive to take over.

I'll see if I can't find the evil editor manual and go through it and learn how to use it.

Not so easy if you're not used to it, so I took a couple minutes and reworked the event list for you. Download this file and change the .txt extension to .evt, then open the scenario in the editor and hit F7. Find the 'Desert Storm 91v653 Event.evt' file and hit 'open'. This will replace the original events with these new ones.

I don't have time to play test it, but its all fairly simple so I shouldn't have broken anything. [;)]

Edit: See post 56 for the complete scenario file.

Next, I moved the 24th Mech Div into a light screen on the western end of the front lines. The idea is to shield the elements that are
going to race north to the west of the 24th Mech. I'm hoping the Iraqi forces don't have very good theater recon so they won't know
that I'm trying to outflank them on the west end.

Next, I moved the 3rd Armoured Division into their jump-off positions for future attacks on the Iraq lines. But before I attack w/ the
tanks I want to allow some time for the arty to have their arty-counterarty fighting done with and allow some time for the helicopters
to work over the enemy arty some and THEN attack.

Next I moved the 1st Cav tanks into their holding positions. I'm just blocking for now to allow some time for the arty to clear a path for
the tanks. Once the arty is kaput I'll move north w/ the tanks and make a hole for the infantry to wade into.

One of the Iraqi scud units is within range of some of my arty. Now I can look up which of the aircraft is tasked for this scud site and
assign it to something else. Or maybe I should leave it on it's original mission just as insurance to get full rid of the scud site. Yeah.

I flew the 82nd and 101st to positions north of the front lines on the west side to make a light light screen and try to take over a road
junction that I may or may not need for future operations. I think this will be the northmost reach of the envelopment depending on the
reaction of the Iraqis.

I made the mistake of including some arty in an attack on a scud site and the counter-battery fire did some collateral damage to the
other combat units in the hex. D'oh. And my attack only got one of the scuds. I'm going to have to put the B-52's on this case.

The F-117's did a job on the rest of the Iraqi air force. Now I don't need any air supremacy missions and can concentrate on combat
support and interdiction.

This strike on a scud site got all 6 of the scuds in the unit. So I can concentrate on the other two now.

40% of the turn remains after the 2nd round of attacks. This is the list of losses so far. I'm especially disheartened by all the chopper
losses. I'm thinking of putting them on interdiction and just making strikes w/ the aircraft until the number of antiaircraft missiles is
a lot lower. The Iraqi equivalent of Stingers is probably what's bringing down all the choppers. Either that or the ZSU-57's out there.

I did a save game and then did an end turn to go to the Iraqi side to find out what the losses were so far. This is they:

Okie dokie, I've given all the planes their missions for round 3 and hit the end turn button to start the combats. This is the results of a
scud strike using B-52's and Tornado's'. I lost a B-52 and somehow missed all the scuds. I'm going to have to get the A-10's to look
into this case. That or some of the F-16's.
