German production in '42 - is it just me?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

The split factory and unit upgrade will be a nice feature and, if working properly, needs to be backported to WitW. Tank upgrades at specific cost are nice as well so you could keep the Pz IIIe combatworthy by replacing the turret to a short 5cm (IIIg), adding armor afterwards (IIIh) and maybe even fitting the long 5cm gun (III L/M).
Same with the IV so you don't lose IV C/E/F and even early long IV to scrapping.
The unreliable Panther D could be "upgraded"/fixed to become a more reliable A.

The only restriction is that an element can import from just one other element, I think I found one case where it would be better to import from two elements (two Pioneer Squads ending in 11/44 or 10/44). In such case the game can only convert one type and the second must be set to instant scrap.

One of the Pioneer squads, afair 103, is rarely used in the early campaigns. Standard usage path is from 102 to 104.

Yeah, I thought so as they are identical. One is probably left because cleanup of scenarios would take too much work.

Using the v.13 engine we are up to T79. With the arrival of the '43 infantry TOE and the reduction in cavalry squads to 9, I put every '43 infantry division into refit and am rotating them out of the line. The last three turns I have seen a satisfying 50%+ of the armament points going into rifle squads and the manpower pool is slowly shrinking.

Now that we are getting into '43, I want to resurrect this thread on the 75 MM swap logic. Has any progress been made on the issue?

More on the MG elements. they represent about 23% of the M34/M42 MGs in the German infantry division. Looking at the Niehorstor divisional TOE, it looks like these are meant to reflect the MG34/42 associated with the heavy weapons units to include the artillery. My guess is the throttle on the MG elements is meant to reflect this association.

Now that the rifle squad counts in my infantry divisions are largely recovered, it is obvious the MG elements are lagging far behind the other element types. I think this is because there is one MG element type but many large weapons with which it is associated. So, if it is possible, I would recommend lifting the throttle on MG elements by 50% and see if it makes the effective TOE percentages more comparable.
