Wild Bill,

Having poked fun both at you and with you in the past, I know you are a man of both integrity and perserverence. I can say from personal experience that losing a family member or friend is never easy. But my thoughts and best wishes go with you and yours. Fair Winds and Following Seas my friend.

WB, I am ever so sorry to hear of your families loss. May God give comfort during this difficult time and may memories of happier times heal the hurt you and they are feeling now.

I lost my stepson to cancer this summer. My condolences. It has however made me appreciate life all the more. Some of the things that make people upset are just not that important in the real scheme of things. My prayers are with you.
Thank every veteran you meet.

Your expressions of concern and care mean so much to me. I'm going to try to make sure that my daughter reads these also. THey will mean a lot to her.

I realize more than ever as I read these that everyone of us live with pain of one sort or another.

Death is inevitable...for all of us. Each loved one lost is a reminder of what awaits all of us.

And the loss is a hard burden to bear. I'm sorry for the losses many of you who posted here have suffered.

I think there is comfort in just knowing that other people can feel and understand your pain.

I thank you all on behalf of me and my family.

Hi Bill,
My sincerest condolences to you and your daughter and both of your families. I feel your pain as I have lost both of my parents over the past few years to cancer,my Dad with stomach cancer and my Mom with cancer of the throat. There is no more painful thing in this world than to watch someone you love slowly waste away to this terrible disease. Take solace in the fact that his suffering is over and he is in a much better place than us. Please pass along my families condolences to your daughter and her family. I will remember you in my prayers tonight.
God Bless

Please also accept my sympathy.
I think I know what what you are experiencing, as my father died of Aspestosis ( A form of lung cancer) 1&1/2 years ago.
"We're having a war, and we want you to come!"
So the pig began to whistle and to pound on a drum.
"We'll give you a gun, and we'll give you a hat!"
And the pig began to whistle when they told the piggies that.

Death, what an ironic thing it is to be confronted by, when so often in the subject of our passion, it is a commonplace thing. It makes me ashamed sometimes to have my interest in military history.

Only the fact that 'to remember' is a valid and even vital point is there some vindication lest those to who confict was anything but a game be in vain.

It does'nt help. Words dont help, but one must try anyway.

Please accept my most sincere condolences WB.

My deepest condolenses to you Wild Bill.

There seems to be something wrong with the world when a father outlives his son. Be assured he's in a better place now

My condoleances to your daughter, her children and yourself. Your son in laws suffering is over, but not yours. The dead, they are in a better place, but the rest of us have to go on without them. This is what really makes death a tragedy.

I will pray for you all.

Although I do not believe in god and find little of worth in religion, the prospect of death is all the more tragic for that.

My best wishes are with you.

Bill,

I'm just catching up on the boards and I'm very sorry to hear of this.

Its difficult but we must try to remember that a person is not their physical part but the interaction of what they gave us and what we were able to give them. That remains with us long after the body has departed and in that manner, they remain with us.
