Naval combat freezes - Guad

Hi we were playing a net game 1.05 of the guad scenario. After setting things up and doing the naval moves for the Japanese, every naval combat did the following:

Search rolls for the axis either never showed, or of they did occasionally they would show for the allied player.
Once search rolls were done the game would freeze.

I think we tried after the 1.06 update but not 100% certain.
