No fuel indicator

Post by adek670 »

Guys,

I'm playing 'duelists' on build 479

Why can't I see the fuel indicator for the sea harriers flying CAP?

See picture

Because they are in a group.

You can switch to unit-view, select any of the aircraft and see its fuel status.

[:-]It makes sense from a unit point of view, but not from a group point of view.
As the guy in command (that's what CMANO is about, isnt'it ?) you want to know where they can go as a group.
I would suggest displaying the worst case (shortest range or time left for example).
Especially for a group of 12 or 20 aircraft, which you do not want to check one by one.

(PS. seeing the range on the map can help also)

well which one do you want to see? best range? best endurance?

I think fuel over home plate would be most applicable really.
To go up, pull back on the stick.
To go down, pull back harder...

Speed is life. Altitude is life insurance.

Well, about the range it's more important for short-legged fighters than for ling endurance support A/C (AEW etc.).
So, range at cruise speed for example (I expect it's close to "best range").

Sorry I do not get what you mean by "fuel over home plate",
but it should take into account the fuel required to get back home + margin, yes.

There's also the question of refuelling, how is it taken into account ?
In fact, the internal working of CMANO might give clues
(how does it decide that an A/C can/should refuel rather than RTB, etc .)

However, a simple range indication even without refuelling might help.
