No worries Larry! All is good. But maybe some PTs at Palembang might disrupt what is bound to follow the DDs. Does the mod allow that?
Hey there pws1225 dude. I'm not sure how to answer your questiion. It's greyed out on the base display as you can see but I'm not
sure if that's permanent or temporary. But it's a good idea and as soon as it's possible I'll create some and see if I can find some
just laying around somewhere and ship them in. Thanks for the idea. Keep those good ideas coming by all means.

Ouch! It sounds like instead of having Lee Sang you should have taken Bruce Lee in that convoy. But you guys got some pretty nice revenge in the Philippines!

Ouch indeed. Jim got some really good payback there but the ships that did that deed are probably in mortal danger of being sunk
themselves. We'll see.

Nice, job hitting that amphib fleet. Hows the Houston and Boise? If hes hitting those ships in Manila port he's leaving the ground troops alone. Those old 4 stacker DDs are still very useful as APDs.

The only PT boats the Dutch get are the ones that start out the game at Soerbja (spelling). Mines and a CL with night NavS would help fight off Jap DD raids at Pbang. You got almost 200 mines there. He has to know they are there now so only an invasion or a sub will run into them now. I'd mine one of the other likely invasion sites around Pbang also.

They were both sunk by the Japs

Yeah, he has yet to hit the ground troops. Too bad about the loss of the ships but the troops are doing pretty good.

Yeah, Good ideas. Thanks for the insight. I like it how you like to share. Keep those great ideas coming.

Here's the number of sunk ships for both sides. It's been a lopsided war so far.

Larry,

Ya gotta see the bright side of life...[:D] Your forces depleted the BB's of thier ammo - they are now susceptible to our mighty armada's!!!
The B-17's on Cagayan snuffed out over 110 Japanese souls in one turn - Thats gotta hurt his advance some!
ALL of our CV's are safe and undamaged right now.
We're ONLY one week into a four year war must...keep...chin...up!!! [:D][;)][:D]

You guys are doing good. My opponent hit Manila pretty hard on the first turn. Don't look at how many ships I have lost and sunk. Koniu please don't show them either. You will get those ships back in spades in the coming years. Just buy yourselves some time.

Just a note to you two geezers, please note that I'm reading both your and John's AARs. This means that I can only rarely give advice and even then it will be of a very general nature. But from what I've seen so far, you seem to be doing fine. December 1941 just sucks for the Allies!

DOCUP - You are sooo right! This is, if not his first, one of Larry's first foray's as an Allied player. So I'm not surprised at the WTH feeling he's having at the beginning... Kinda like culture shock! But I'm sure Larry will shed his Darth Vader ways and one day announce...[:D]

pws1225 - Actually I'm pretty happy after the shock effects of Dec 7th, a tip of the cap to John3rd on the Phillipines. I'm very aware we need our carriers and keeping them split up and out of his way forces John into a Hobson's choice - to spend his precious fuel trying to find them, or concentrate on his conquests allowing us to pick away at the his lead using superior SigInt and subs along his travel paths.

Technical glitches have temporarily interrupted this programme... Me!

Apparently Larry sent the 12/16/41 turn to me yesterday and I lost it! I ended up redoing the 12/15/41 turn which John already has and now I'm waiting for Larry to re send his last turn to me... I punted this pooch alright! Wasting a valuable day too!

Apologies to the readers and posters [:-] must learn to con-sen-trait!!! [:'(]

I combined a lot of subs into a group and drove it into Palembang's harbor. Maybe I'll get a ship or two. It's shallow water though and
I expect to get a sub or two hurt doing this.

Its better to have them in 1 ship TFs. Those O class subs can carry mines. Save them ad use them to mine bases. Especially when he starts to roll his tankers into the area.

Dutch subs O19 & O20 are your mine laying subs. John increased production of mines across the board, so use them in this role. I put them together early in the war to do just that. Eventually, I send ALL my Dutch subs to India. [:)]

For the Americans, I use Argonaut, Narwhal, and Nautilus in a single sub minelaying TF. DON'T allow them to go through their 4/42 upgrade as the two Narwhal Class subs will lose their mine carrying capacity. All three are slow (13 knots), so this is a good role for them.

India instead of, say, Buin? Or Sydney?

You get enough American subs to cover the Pacific. You have very few British subs to cover the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. "IF" John was to go for India, what subs would you have for defense?? That is why the Dutch go there. Once Soerabaja is unsafe for sub repairs, I limp the damaged Dutch subs to Colombo. Then, they spent time around Port Blair and mostly off Rangoon.

Thanks very much for explaining that. I understand better now, why you chose what you did. Makes sense. Will do.
