Looks impressive what period does it cover 1948-49 1956 1967 1973
Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

Yes I saw the date but the only tanks I have seen are T54's. Most tanks in the region are T62 T72 Abrams. T54 is a bit of a antique. Correction just spotted some T62's. If you throw the MOD open for a multi-player game what side will you be playing (:

I would take Israel of course.......it will be human/human player and the only two regimes active at the beginning are Israel and the Islamic states. the other regimes are active once their ally is at war or they are declared war against. Yes this would make an excellent multi player game

RE: NEAR EAST AFLAME
the Israeli's have Merkava heavy tanks level I-IV, the arabs have soviet heavy tanks T-80's and higher. the medium tanks for the arabs are T-54-T-72 and for the Israeli's their medium tanks are centurions, M-48, M-60 and the Sabra which is a modified version of the M-60.
The better tanks for the arabs are the heavy tanks, but the more numerous tanks for the arabs are the medium tanks. the israeli's best tank is the Merkava (chariot) which is a heavy tank as well. but they still have medium tanks as well.
what I would like to do, but my programming sucks, is have pre-defined units for the arabs and this would be the only way they would receive tanks and planes and ships but the cards would be expensive, everything else they could produce. But as it is now, they can produce tanks, planes but the research is very, very high as I stated above. what is programmed and all due to ernie not me, are the manpower and the wake regimes events.

How do you handle production because a lot of these weapon systems are not manufactured in the countries operating them, and rely on spare parts and replacement from external international sources. So replacements would be problematic based on who you are at war with.

Israeli OOB as follows off the top of my head, at work so i do not remember this 100% but this is pretty close
20 Armored Brigades
9 Mechanized Brigades
1 Infantry Brigade
3 Para Brigades
over 600 combat aircraft

the Israeli's produce their own equipment for the most part ( Merkava tank, and Kifr fighter) and iran, jordan produce their own tanks. I think Pakistan ( which is apart of the islamic states) produces some equipment but not sure tanks. for now each regime has factories for production, but research is set very, very high.... oh and India produces their own as well

I guess diplomacy will be down to the players in a multi-player game, Any option for US intervention after all they currently do have forces in some of the countries in the MOD.

i'm thinking about adding the Russians but as for the U.S. this scenario assumes the U.S. is not in the picture. (obama's arab spring has backfired, why Pakistan and Afghanistan are now united)so the U.S. is out of the picture.

RE: NEAR EAST AFLAME
at the beginning of the game, there are only two active players so the other players will not activate until the islamic states or Israel declares war. then those states ( iran, united arab republic, palestine) are immediately activated once Iran is attacked.
Iran is allied with the following
Palestine
United arab republc (U.A.E. & Oman)
Israel is allied with India
Palestine is allied with
Iran
Arab Republic of Iraq
Egypt- not allied but active if declared war against.
Turkey- non-active
Turkmenistan- non-active
Kashmir- not allied but will become active if another regime declares war against
Arabia ( Saudi Arabia)not allied, but will activate if attacked
Arab Republic of Iraq allied
palestine

RE: NEAR EAST AFLAME
if i could get the V1 to work I would use these as scuds but as I have never been able to get them to work, guess I will not include them.
