chasing down the oddballs

Post by jcjordan »

What's the best unit type or way to chase down/destroy the small oddball units like bushwhackers/partisans or cavalry raids? On bushwackers/partisans it seems they just melt away when I get a unit in the area but the moment I leave they're back but no battle took place or nothing in the EOT reports shows anything like an attempt to engage failed.

I use cavalry units. And, they hide/escape well, so don't expect a battle immediately. Keep chasing them.

In AACW, 2 Cav + HorseArty was an effective anti-Raid stack to put together. 4 Cav + 2 HA is a beefier version. Put under a Cav Leader or any Leader, if needed.
