Incapable Acoustic Sensor

Post by Sabian »

When playing tutorial scenario #2 (Sub Warfare)part #3 where your objective is to hunt and sink a hostile destroyer, I keep picking up the KA-27 helo using the AN/WLY-1 acoustic sensor as seen noted here:"Detected by USS North Carolina [Sensors: AN/WLY-1] at 323deg - Estimated 11NM". How is that possible?

I'm guessing the helo is dipping and pinging.

Plus, subs can detect low flying planes/helicopters with their sonars. If you have seen how much pressure hovering helicopter makes on water surface, it makes more sense.
