Naval Movement

Post by Braig »

After completing the naval movement phase in combined for the CW, I can't end the phase. The button is unlit.
From the save game:
Move all available warships from Gibraltar west.
Intercept and stop in the sea zone. This completes the first movement.
From Plymouth, I believe it is, load the Alexander HQ onto an available transport and then move him as well as an escort force into the BoB.
Decline to intercept, and stop movement.

This file is patch 1.07

Shannon, as an old playtester on CWiF, I have have to tell you that you have done an incredible thing with this game. Such a huge improvement and I'm loving every minute of it.
We'll squash these bugs and it will be a masterpiece!

RE: Naval Movement

I have had trouble with the game not continuing after stopping movement after an intercept, too. What I do to continue if this happens is go back to the start of the naval phase, and move into the sea areas where the interception occurred and do not try and intercept, just stop in the right box in the sea area.

This will leave the game in almost the right state for the next phase; the only difference is that an intercepting unit will not have flipped. If the intercepting player wants (and can) fight a battle and the moving player doesn't, everything will be fine; the end result will be exactly the same. If neither player wants to fight a battle, and the intercepting player can fight, have the intercepting player search, and have both search rolls fail. If the moving player wants to fight, or if the intercepting player can't fight, then there is nothing to be done; one intercepting unit that should be disorganized won't be. I live with this; it doesn't come up very often, and usually doesn't make a difference when it does.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

Thanks for that! I'll try it to see if I can continue.

Trying as Courtnay suggested above, not intercepting either movement indeed let's the phase advance.

This should be fixed in version 1.0.8.3.
