Can't Find System Resources

In a fairly zoomed out view, you can click on systems, it will then show you all the resources in said system (bottom left info-box). However, a few times it has listed resource X (X being an arbitrary resource), but after clicking on all planets and moons I cannot find resource X in said system. I'm 100% positive I have explored all of the system, so what could I be missing?

I have a perfect example in my current game, the system info box says "2 planets, 0 moons" but after clicking on both planets 2 of the resources listed are on neither.

Often there are tiny individual asteroids floating around with resources. You are likely only to find them with extremely close inspection or if you happen to be watching when your exploration vessel is in the system. (Mining these is often a waste.) There are sometimes hard to see asteroid fields as well on the outer edges of solar systems. You should always check asteroid fields for the green and gold specials.
