Production is making me a sad panda

Post by rroberson »

Having some production issues in one of my game and I cannot figure out why.

Image

Plenty of supply, HI, Oil, resources, etc etc.

Yet, my Kate production is not happening.

This is also happening to me at my Betty factories.

You can see how this might be an issue in my game (we are mid 43).

I usually ignore production and go with what Tojo decides. I tinkered with the Kates this game and it's costing me.

Any suggestions would be welcomed and praised [&o]

You have to have a minimum of 10,000 supply at the base to repair the factories. Each repair will use 1,000 supply, so you should probably set Hiroshima/Kure supply demand to at least 5,000 ( it will move 15,000 into the base )

I haven't played this one for a while but from memory The factories wont repair until you have at least 20,000 supply in the factory hex. After that you get maybe one repair per turn in each hex which eats up some of the supply and again you need to get back over 20,000 to keep them repairing

+1. No supply=no repair of research and / or production.

Awesome and thanks, been a while since I ran with the imperials and really never dabble with production much back then. Will make the supply correction and get Kate back to her carriers.

Good advice posted above.

I follow Damien's recommendation that each base with damaged (as in new) factories be set to a 4k supply draw (from the base menu). The code automatically multiplies x3, which equals about 12k drawn to the base.

After expanding a factory, at least 10K supplies must be on hand (initially to get started as EHansen stated) and a thousand additional supplies for each repair. So if you increased an airframe factory by five, at least 15k supplies need to be at hand.

I think I have it right, and hope that this helps.

Of course, if things go badly, there is only one form of apology that His Majesty will accept <grin>

No it's 10K. You need 20K for upgrading a/c.

Correct. 10K at the beginning of the turn, so it can drop below 10K after repairing, but to start to repair it has to see at least 10K supply. Gifu always sucks a lot of supply early on as you get your ac production straightened out from the fiasco that the IJ started the war with ... actually believing that the Jill and Judy and SAM were ready to fly ... [X(] as an IJFB you wish it was true ... [:(]

Keep an eye on those bases early on. I've noticed that setting the 4k supply draw at too many bases in the Home Islands can create some conflicts and some bases still won't get the supplies they need. I only mention this, because it isn't 'set to 4k and walk away' - you do need to keep an eye on things. Tracker is great for this part since you can see the history of each factory and see whether they are repairing or not.

This happens when you try to expand TOO fast and run short of supply. Easiest way to monitor this (MikeS and I both do it this way) is simply to watch the supply at Tokyo. I never let it get below 750K.

Monitoring Tokyo makes sense and saves time and work; I have learned something new from the Big Boys...<grin>

It is a good idea to set the supply draw at bases with multiple factories that need repairing to 5k rather than 4k. With 12k supplies, only up to 2 factories will repair.

As for Tokyo supplies, I try to keep it above 900k. 1M or more is better. 800k is my red line.
